Players trying to steal your account

I recently was asked if i wanted a free code for some rp and i was like yeah of course, as would anyone else. But i also knew it wasnt legit. They told me it was for 4800 and i actually laughed by how fake their deal was. They then asked for my account name and password so that they could write the code. Like thats obviously fake so i asked if i could make a smurf account and then they could do it and they got all dodgy about it. So i made this post in case similar events happen to you. Post the names of the scammers below and we can help the community keep an eye out for Teemos of the real world. The player's name is DJ Deka btw. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

. . . anyone asking if I want FREE RP is equivalent to an African prince needing to park money in my bank account... it preys on the stupid... don't be stupid.

You should also remove the name from the post, and we can't really have a running call-out thread for players who spread this stuff. Best you can do is screenshot it and report it via a ticket at support.riotgames.com.

Basically every in game event has some sort of scam that people come up with to go along with it.

Seems you obviously knew what to do but for others:

  • Never under any circumstances give your password to anyone. Account sharing is not allowed and anyone asking for your password is trying to steal your account.
  • Make sure any link that has you log in is part of leagueoflegends.com or riotgames.com . A common way they get peoples info is to create a site that looks like league of legends' site and have you log in to it, thus giving them your info.
  • *Essentially every one of those free RP type things are fake. Just remember, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

People fall for different types of scams all the time. During the harrowing someone linked me one of those sites 100% believing he was just informing me about this awesome thing he found. I met this guy in an aram weeks before and only talked to him a couple of times so if he sent that to me then he sent it to everyone on his friends list.

p.s. You should remove the persons name. Naming and shaming is against forum policy.
