Fix trolling in ranked, link to real life ID.

Hey Riot,

The anonymity of the internet seems to be linked to incentivizing trolling/ragers. Why not introduce a separate ranked queue for people that will confirm there real life identity privately to you (facebook, cell phone). Have acceptance based on the honor system so low honor people are not allowed on. Then allow people to build honour in normals to escape the prisoners island of a created anonymous ranked.

People will also be wary of typing things that can come back and get them later in life.

Thanks

It would be dead on arrival (nobody wants to go through that effort), not to mention spoofing facebook or a cellphone is incredibly easy.

Incidentally LoL accounts already do link to facebook.

Lose lane, get stalked. No thanks.

If it were public, then yeah, but if Riot kept the info to themselves then the idea might have merit.

Granted I would hope a gaming company wouldn't be a high priority target. Too many data breaches from stores and credit bureau's for me to want to bother.

I definitely understand your concern, but I don't think a breach would be likely to affect this, and here's why:

  1. Hackers who create breaches do so to profit, so they will be looking for financial data, not social media and email accounts.

  2. Riot could also simply store whether or not each account is verified with a boolean rather than storing the account's identifying info.

That would create a lot of problems irl which would ruin league as a game with all the bad press could you people knowing where someguy who trolled you lived how badly that would turn out

You gonna come to my house and do what? Good luck with that either my pops will punch you to death considering he is a bodybuilder who boxed for years or imma smash your head with one of the bats and battons we got LMAO.

Not all Americans are gun enthusiasts.

not all but it could be dangerous with those who are

The day they require some kind of irl verification is the day I quit playing league. Not only is it excessive and potentially dangerous, it's unnecessary. Just let the report system do it's work. I agree that it's frustrating to have trolls in ranked (or any mode) but this sort of thing is a bit too far imo.
