Was I toxic? (not a rant)

In my last game people called me toxic and I don't understand what I did. Is it toxic to give tips to your teammates and enemies? For example, when I took an exposed inhibitor and both nexus turrets of the enemies while they were fighting my team I said: "It's important to not fight when you have an open inhib with a large wave crashing on it". At the end of the game they started calling me toxic saying that they were going to report me. Another example is when the Katarina on my team was getting out farmed by the supports because she roamed while waves were crashing on her turret, I told her "Katarina, farm is worth a lot more than kills and you would be much stronger if you focused on farm before roaming". The whole time I was trying to give advice to my teammates and opponents so they could recognize their mistakes and fix them in the future instead of chalking it up to "being unlucky".

I am seriously asking, was I toxic somehow? If I was toxic please tell me how to stop being toxic so that I don't get banned or upset other players.

If you give advice once, it's advice.

If you give advice "the whole time" then you're seriously annoying.

There are two times where you can freely give advice and not worry about being perceived as toxic.

1: Someone is paying you to coach them.

2: Someone has specifically asked for advice on the specific issue you are going to address.

I've seen a lo of players that think they are so much better and give "helpful advice" a lot and its actually super annoying. Try to just focus on your own game and give advice only on bigger things that you think they will also feel is helping them.

Toxic is telling people to die, get cancer, etc. I don't think you were toxic.

Nope, not toxic. Definitely not a valid reason to ban someone.

Depends on what you say. This is just your side of the story. If they're telling you that you were being toxic, then it's something you're possibly saying that you're not including. If you ever do get punished, it's based on what you said, not the choices in the game. Most people who claimed that they're giving "advice" when they really weren't.

So no one here can tell you if you're being toxic or not. Not officially.

Only Riot Tantrum or a Riot Member can tell you.
