Need help with ban!

Hello everyone, I was banned on 1/8/17 and I don't understand why I was banned. I was banned for the usage of a 3rd party program, as I was told by a Rioter through the new chat support. However, the usage of the application I used was justified as being unbannable. Now I'm being told that I am being banned for it and that they don't even know what 3rd party program I'm using. Its not fair and unjust, I just don't know what's the issue, please help.

My ban was extremely odd because I received it out of nowhere.

I didn't even receive the reason as to why I was banned.

There are multiple sources stating that using a custom skin is not bannable.

It is client side, and I think my ban was unfair.

Being client side doesn't justify use of a program, and while customs skins are generally not an offense, they are under use at your own risk and have been known to cause bans. Especially with the new client, the system was reworked that the type of changes custom skins make are very close and resemble things like scripts. Additionally, 3rd party programs that cause any sort of competitive advantage are punishable, and while I am not accusing you of it, there are customs skins that give visual indicators of abilities that can most certainly cause an advantage.

Additionally, the Rioter who responded to your ticket did exactly what they are supposed to do. No detailed information is allowed to be given to 3rd party program bans because it can lead to users finding what specifically was the issue of the ban and then reinvent whatever program they were using to avoid touching that part of the client. By not giving any information (and also doing ban waves so that a person doesn't get immediate feedback to what they did caused the ban) Riot is protecting themselves from a large group of people who are able to easily create programs that get around their automated system.

Sorry dude, I know it sucks, but the ban will stand.

They won't give you more information because they are not going to tell you how the system works. Any player looking to circumvent the system is going to do exactly what you did and question them to try to get more information. So they can't give you anything because you could be somebody trying to circumvent it.

It's not the support person's fault, it is because people look for ways around the system. This is why we can't have nice things. :P

Okay, about custom skins... Some of the programs are allowed, and some of them actually are bannable. With any program that modifies the league client in any way, it is a "use at your own risk." Many of the custom skin software programs offer additional functions beyond simple skin mods, and it is the additional functions that are considered extremely taboo where Riot is concerned. Which is why those programs are bannable. You can take a look at this list to see if the particular program you used has an official Riot response or not.

As to whether that is for certain the program that triggered the ban... it may not be. What Mr. Feeny was trying to say, and didn't necessarily make too clear, is that Riot Support is not going to tell you exactly what program they detected on your system. Whenever an account is found with malicious third party programs involved, it is flagged, and they are banned in waves. The players are never told exactly what program, because many of the programs are involved with botting, scripting, and hacking. To ensure that the hackers, botters, and scripters do not find out how Riot discovered them, Riot never reveals the information on which program they detected, or how it was detected.

Aside from the custom skin program, there's a lot of other questions that we would generally ask to help you narrow down what program it might have been. Did you buy your account? Many bought accounts are leveled up with botting programs, and those will get banned. Is your computer your own personal computer, or do you share it with friends/family? Is it possible that anyone else downloaded any sort of program to it without your knowledge? Have you ever played League on someone else's computer? Do you run any sort of special macros?
