After being verbally assaulted and my family made fun of, they said they would report me because they are friends and theres nothing I could do about it, so I said this..

so report the tourist for verbal abuse and unsportsmanlike conduct ("told to stop sucking ritos D") I reply.... nope, u cant spam and u cant bm teamates in the pre game lobby gl in the tribunal udyr what else? calm down man akali thats harrassment, ur really making it easy for the tribunal to mute u u guys are verbally abusing me, calling me troll, telling me to stop feeding etc, and ashe just cursed at me so shell be getting reported sorry to inform you but u can report me 100 times, if im doing nothing wrong, the reports dont do anything u guys verbally abused me, made fun of my mom called me troll, spammed pre game lobby chat, harrassment, ull be getting banned

after the game the message above was emailed to me and said I was being chat restricted, like wtf? I got in trouble for informing people of the rules? LOL this report system is a joke and favors groups of friends to mass report someone doing nothing wrong but being new to the game....

Don't feed the trolls dude, the best option in a shitty scenario like that is to ignore them and then report them. There is literally no point in chatting back to kids in a group because you are only fueling the fire. Also probably not the best idea to tell people they will be getting banned when you have no power over whether or not that is going to happen. I hate when people from the other team tell me to report someone on their team. Like how about no, also telling people you are reporting them is an easy way to get yourself reported. Power in numbers unfortunately.

Something else to keep in mind: The system doesn't care if 1 person or all 9 of the other players report you. It only counts the number of games you've received reports in. It's set up that way because of situations like the one you described to both protect solo players from premades and to give them a voice if harrassed.

Yep, i got a 14 day ban, because i asked the enemy team to report a guy who was int feeding an ruining our game + bming us lol. its pretty lame. i was the victim in the crime and im the one who got punished.

It does favor numbers. If 4 people treat you like garbage, and you report them.. but the 4 of them report you.. you WILL get a chat ban. It has been proven. Riot does not care about trolls in this game. The only thing they care about are people who genuinely care about the outcome of a game-- hence the people who question questionable plays, and the people who defend themselves against trolls. It is now my goal to make sure every single person on these forums who defends them gets perma-banned by getting in games with them and making them say one word out of line in-game when I feed so hard. It will work.

I got matched up with a toxic 4 man group queue today. 1st thing they did was ban my intended champ. Then they started verbally abusing in pregame chat. There's really only 3 possible outcomes at this point.

  1. You dodge
  2. You make a bad pick potentially forcing them to dodge.
  3. You go down with the ship and hope they at least have the sense to FF@20

I took option 2 and chose ashe top. I was fully ready for option 3

do not stand up for yourself or you will be punished. defending yourself is bannable behavior in riot's eyes.
