I talked to a rioter and he told me to come here to attempt to get an additional chance.

Let me start this off my saying, riots punishment system is bad. By banning people permanently for talking doesn't make sense, when riot could easily just chat restrict them indefinitely or shadow mute them, making their teammates unable to see what they're saying. This would actually help player retention as well as help riot be a nice safe space for gamers :)

In my situation, I was permabanned for saying the f word (new f word), but had never been chat restricted. I got banned for homophobic language, but everyone who's played videogames for the past 5 years knows this word isn't meant in a homophobic manner. It's literally just people attempting to offend someone who has provoked them.

Now, I'm okay with riot not wanting people to say it, but if that's their goal, why not just perma-chat restrict people???? This is like someone having gangrene in their foot, but instead of amputating just the foot, cutting off their whole leg. I dont understand what riot gains from permabanning players, that wouldn't be accomplished by just perma chat restricting them.

Other than that, please unban me !! " :))))

Permanently chat banning people has shown an increase in those individuals toxicity multiple studies have shown this.

I feel like when a rioters tells someone to come on here and ask to be unbanned they are hoping you will recognize your actions where bad and this would be a heartfelt try to convince the community you changed for the better.

Instead you come here and say the system sucks and what you didn't wasn't wrong . Personally as someone who happens to relate to that word I don't really enjoy hearing it in game...it is a hate word simple fact.

If you called someone a homophobic slur or some variation of it, then I do think a punishment was necessary.

What do the rest of your chat logs say? What prior punishments had you received prior to arriving at a permanent ban?

They used to perma-mute players but found that it just led to them trolling and being toxic in non chat-related ways, so they don’t do it anymore. Sorry but there’s not much chance of getting your account back.

It is highly unlikely that a Rioter told you to come post here for clemency. Only a Rioter has the power to remove a punishment, and they (almost) exclusively only do it through a support request. That being said, their general policy is to not remove punishments that were not in error.

Based on your OP, your punishment does not fall into this category.

First of all when you say the new f word there are many, and also that is a homophobic slur, go to google dictionary and you will see the meaning also riot can see what type of tense you have used the word in as a result you have been banned the fact that you try to cover it up or trick people to think you said something else as this is misleading false information, basically from what we know you could've said the word fire truck, however the fact you didnt tell us the real word we will think your ban was unjust, however that word is extremely offensive as a result you got banned.

A chat restricted player is a huge liability to their team. Best to just remove them or make them start over, hopefully wiser.

There is no way you skipped straight to permban just for one minor infraction, though..

Do you mind me asking how old you are? Curious of the age of someone who thinks it’s ok to call someone the f word then rationalizes it with “well I don’t mean it in a homophobic sense.”
