Riot is now victim blaming

I was first having a fun game with my opponent who I was fighting middle with, we were taunting each other calling each other "try hards" and laughing at each other and other taunts when we died or escaped a gank. I wasn't do a very good job as I was new to Yasuo and was pretty much getting murdered, then my support and jungle start verbaly abusing me and telling the opposite team to report me as well as making up false phrases that I did not say so they woudl report me as I was dying a lot.

After the game I find that I got a chat ban, and I contacted riot who basically said I was the 5% of the whole league population to be so toxic to get banned and that It was my fault and the only proof they showed was just the 1 sided dialog from me. Riot has failed again to create a balanced game and in fact they are victim blaming and falsely accusing victims. I am so hurt not only after that game (I actually had to stop because it was mentally and emotionally draining) but on how Riot treated my situation, I feel that Riot does not support its players or even care that this kind of bullying and abuse is happening.

  1. looks like you started going off against the jungler first.

  2. you don't get banned for 1 game only, the emails are normally limited to 1 game, but there should be more in your ingame client. If not they are showing only showing your recent games that were punishable. You can ask Riot support for more logs.

  3. Its one sided dialogs because only what you say matters. Even if you were triggered, you are responsible for what you say.

  4. others will get their punishment when they have accumulated enough valid reports against them.

  5. false reports get thrown out. so don't worry about them saying stuff that "isn't true" and trying to get others to report you that way.

  6. phishing for reports can get you a report for harassment.

  7. take responsibility for what you said and stop playing the victim game.

First, retaliatory toxicity is not allowed. Toxicity for any reason is not allowed.

Second, putting the victim aspect aside, many of your comments on that seem to be fairly rude on their own. Especially the beginning which I assume is you laughing at your teammates.

Asking for reports is not something you should ever do. If it's something really, really obvious like intentional feeding it will be picked up and you can report it yourself to add to that. The instant you retaliate you are putting yourself in the same firing line as anyone verbally abusing and harassing you. I'm guilty of it myself, responding to people goading me but there is a line and you crossed it. I always try to stay on the right side of it.

Something to think about - unless the toxic chat has been in /all chat nobody on the other team has any reason to believe you. You could be trying to get someone in trouble and it could be you that has been toxic for al lthey know. I've had people on my team in the past ask in /all chat for people to report me for using slurs against them. They were lying, I knew it, I knew that nothing would come from it so I said nothing. It's hard to do for some people, just ignoring crap hurled them but if you ever want to play in games with strict rules you have to follow them.

Maybe it would help you put the entire chat log, but asking ppl to report others, even in jest, isn't sportsman-like. I have been flamed in game, and simply replied, "I am trying." "That was not intentional." "Sorry, my bad." "That's uncalled for." I have yet to be reported or banned. I have also informed an ADC about what support's role in game, and was not reported. It went something like this, "I am NOT the ADC. It is may job to harass and set up kills for you. You are the ADC. It is my job to get their attention and make sure you get out with some health after a trade." He did not report me.

There are ways to respond that don't sound rude or induce others to report you, j/s.

Calling for reports is reportable in its own right. You literally only need 1 report for the game to be flagged for review, so there is absolutely no need to call for reports.

Calling someone useless and continually making insulting remarks towards them is considered harassment.

You did both of the above in the chat log.

It does not matter in what context you said the things you said. The system takes none of that into account. The only thing, I repeat, the ONLY thing that matters is what you, and ONLY you, said when decided whether or not to punish you. This is why you only get your chat and not anyone else's.

Giving up and more all-chat report calling.

Conclusion: You spend an awfully long time using the chat just to argue and harass people than you do actually playing the game. The longer you take to chat the less time that you have to actually play the game. Whenever someone doesn't do something or perform the way you want you harass them over it and call for reports against them as well, all in all-chat might I add.

Advice:

  • Don't tell others how to play. Giving them tips and advice is fine, but expecting them to play exactly how you want them to play is just plain foolishness on your part honestly.
  • Harassing and report-calling people are both big no-nos. If you need to yell, do it at the screen and not in chat. For reports, just report them rather than announcing it. By report calling you open up yourself to being valid reported by others in that game. Besides, report calling won't get them to stop doing what they're doing so it's pointless to even think that it will as it won't.
  • Cool it with the all-chat rants. Believe it or not the enemy team doesn't want to hear you constantly whine and complain about someone or something. Again, yell at the TV, not in the chat.

My verdict: Punish.

Riot is toxic in its own accord... Look at some of the changes that WERE NOT required?...but done anyway? Look at some of the issues that plague certain champs like Ryze's new Proc bug...think it's being dealt with? No....

Think Riot will listen to the overwhelming amount of reports they get about the botters, scripters, and those who consistently AFK? No...

Will Riot bite my head off for posting this? Probably, and you know what? ITS A GAME! A form of quality entertainment. An escape from reality. But then you got butt-hurt jack-holes that whine and bitch and complain and scream and cry just because someone's not able to counter their lane's enemy...

Oh wait... No one plays on teams cept for the Higher ELO's and even then...those clowns are just that, clowns. They forgot what it's like to be a newbie - intermediate player...

If more people were allowed to know if their reports eventually triggered someones ban, there would be less people trying to retaliate bad actions.
