What would Riot do?

To all my friends I don’t know who have ever been banned or punished by Riot. ..

Hello,

This post is not for those who call themselves perfect. This is for all those people out there who feel like they have been cheated or robbed by the “system” that’s actual intent is to prevent and/or stamp out toxicity in League of Legends. Ironically the same system actually breeds more toxicity than it does prevent it. Having been caught up arguing with people in a chat I too have fallen short of the unbanned perfection of the community that still manages to get away with cursing and saying things in chat when (let’s face it) only one or two people maybe ever get the punishment handed down for it. I’m not saying I’m innocent. In fact I flat out admit I shouldn’t have called the people I was arguing with what I called them. However after serving my sentence of a long horrible two weeks. I changed my ways and really tried to see if the company known as Riot actually cared if I had better behavior etc. After quite a few games I was able to get my after game rewards back on my account and have since strayed away from saying anything toxic in the chat.

Lesson learned right? Hm.....well you’re probably wondering why is this guy even here posting then???? Because like myself this season I’ve found out that there are a bit of other players out there who also learned at the last days of climbing that........border,rewards,emblems, yep all gone. Why? Because in the middle of the season Riot decided that they were going to change their rules and not reward players who were banned after August 22nd. Why this date? Well idk guys... what I do know though, is that I’ve served my two weeks and been punished already for my toxic chat (I’m honest I’m not perfect) . And now quite frankly am being punished again just because of a date changing things mid season...you would think that the best way to have done this would have been to actually make the change fresh on a new season. Well, all of the other players who did the same thing BEFORE August 22nd got their climbing rewards (border, emblem, skin, etc.).........I would genuinely love to hear someone’s explanation as to how that’s fair to the people who served their sentence (AFTER the date) in good faith, reformed, and are now being punished essentially twice (double jeopardy) for the same thing.. Yet everyone who did it before that date, still got their border. People spend years of their lives playing a game like this spending time and money etc. Not only does this create anger and bitterness in the league of legends community by treating players this way, it creates anger and frustration outside of the game as well. The overall perception of riot is that they don’t care. They answer with scripted, formulated responses that only acknowledge that you are the problem not their perfect decision making. In the words of some of my favorite streamers....”Riot....please” all you are doing is creating more toxicity and hate in your community by doing things like this. I think you make a lot of decisions based on good intentions. But just like when you nerf a champ or item. You realize that it may have been a good idea or sounded good at the time, but was a clear mistake. Not giving rewards to individuals who come home and enjoy your game as a hobby for years as stress relief because you changed a date in the middle of the season is just sad. I would even be ok without my skin. But seriously.... the border is why people play your game. And you don’t even allow people to show off said border unless they are able to consistently win (WIN ONLY NOT STATS OR ANYTHING ELSE) with 4 random strangers and have the slight luck of getting teammates who won’t flame, feed or cause the catastrophic Jenga that is your chat in the game. Even if the player ints, etc. and gets punished after the game. Have you guys ever thought what about all the other players who just lost 20 LP that they will never get back? This is the type of feedback that you really should be looking at. Only you guys can make it right for your players. I know that you are favorable and fair individuals Riot. Don’t take peoples border unfairly when we worked hard for it despite serving the punishment already and consistently working towards being more optimistic and positive towards our teams. It’s not fair. If anyone agrees with this or feels my pain feel free to post. For the sake of decency please do not post if you’re going to gloat about never getting banned. This post is not for you. Everyone at some point gets angry and frustrated. And nobody is perfect. This is an attempt to get the Devs to really do something that would show the players how much they care about real fairness and change the image that is plaguing them as the most toxic game in the world.

Sincerely ,

-Dag

So this year they gave more time than they have the previous two seasons for you to not get banned.... and you still managed not to abide.

... it was the same thing the season before... from the FAQ for last last season's rewards

Yes, some players are ineligible for rewards because of negative in-game behavior. This applies only to the 2016 season. Here are the details: Players with bans or chat restrictions active when the season ends are ineligible for this year’s rewards. Players issued a ban of seven days or more in the three months prior to the end of the season (from August 7 on) are ineligible for this year’s rewards. Players banned for boosting during the 2016 season remain ineligible for rewards. Players who experienced fraud-related and erroneous bans will still be eligible
