If I tell someone they need to make sure their helmet is on and that they tighten their chinstrap up so they can play their best, could I be banned for it? Or if I tell them that their chinstrap might be a little too tight if/when they make a bad play?

They don't make too awful much sense, but I'm gonna assume by the fact that you felt the need to ask if it was punishable, that you're referring to the stereotype where people who suffer mental retardation require a helmet for safety. I could of course be wrong, but, if that is the case, just, don't. Period.

In fact, a good rule of thumb is to look at it like this: If you feel like you should ask if something's punishable, it may just be, and you're better off avoiding it altogether.

I'd say no.

It's sort of 'in character'.

Like if you're playing Lux and you say "We an do this." or "Stay positive."
