Spamming "Missing In Action Ping" to Shame Mistakes - Please Introduce the Right to Mute Pings

Some toxic players spam the yellow question mark to notify the entire team of a player's mistake. That, in a sense, is not healthy for the player at all. The mute option has solved most issues with toxic players, but they can always get a way around it by spamming unnecessary pings. This is extremely off-putting for someone trying to concentrate on the game. Not only does it affect the player being targeted, but the other players on the team as well.

Therefore, I believe that you should have the right to mute pings. That way, players can focus on the game itself and ignore any distractions.

Technically, you can mute pings.

The problem is you mute all of them, not just from the player you're trying to ignore. I agree that Riot should have an individual ping mute button.

I tend to agree, I find rage-pinging FAR more troublesome than people raging in the chat.

You can ignore someone, but if they rage-ping, drowning out actually useful pings you will be legitimately hindered.

It's a good idea and the ability of muting one person's ping whose abusing the feature vs. losing the ability to do so with your entire team is something that needs to be available.

The only issue I have with this is that there's already been so many threads about this and everyone has already stated that they agreed with the idea.

Nope Riot removed it when players start an argument with me like earlier, and start running around like chickens with no heads I only have one choice...

Turn off sound all together to mute pings meaning I cant hear enemy ward placements etc it really disrupts the game play...

/mute all doesn't work, yeah, but you should have a slider in your audio settings for ping volume. You can volume it down or mute it altogether. Unless that's what you meant when you said they removed it, I've never actually used the feature so I'm not sure if it's still there.

But I also have to turn off my sound too to avoid hearing it...

And when players are toxic "Tell me to go Tank" the game starts I am like at least 2+ Ahead we are winning far ahead then they start to run around like chickens with no head, refuse to stack then guess what ( I Refuse to go tank Build full frigging AP) let them know in turning off my chat / sound muting everyone play the game whatever lets just win or lose...

Just no point sometimes at listening to toxic players or the pings cuz I wont listen <3.

Failing to notify the team about an impending possible gank from your lane, even less so.

Your reaction is the typical response I expect from the masses who can't climb in this game: You want the freedom to make as many mistakes as you want, without anyone being allowed to say anything.

the report system protects you from flame, but not from pings.

OP is not talking about the specific example where someone forgot to ping MIA. OP is talking about when someone uses the "?" as a harassment tool (rendering other uses for the ping useless since it is now assumed the aggressor is using a ping to annoy someone).

You can remind your ally to ping MIA without annoying them completely by spamming it 10 times. A simple, "please ping mia <lane>" would suffice.

His problem is not with someone pinging it 10 times. His problem is with someone pinging it AT ALL. Because in the fantasy world of such people, calling them out for any mistake, in ANY way, no matter how politely it is formulated, is a crime against humanity.

These people will respond to a single ping with: "pls report XYZ for harassment" and to an actual line in chat like the one you propose with "muted the toxic".

Last time I checked, spamming requires them to perform the action more than once.
