I got punished for the first time today (10 game chat restriction), and am kinda frustrated about it. Yes, I did say some things that were kinda bad, but I don't think it was that bad. I was being flamed / trolled for most of the game, and did mute my team for a while, but when we had a chance of winning I unmuted and tried to communicate again, but got triggered and flamed back (bad, I know). I'm not looking for someone to give me a life lesson here, but just want another opinion on what I said, and if it was really bad. For some context I'm going through some sort of messed up stuff rn not that it really matters, but I'm sort of desensitized to stuff so yeah, doesn't seem that bad to me rn. Here's my logs:

Reading things over now, all I see wrong with it is calling people idiots, the "dad" comment, and saying "shut the fuck up", which I don't think is worth the 10 game restriction and honor reset. Not expecting it to get undone or whatever, just wanted some clarification / other opinions.

Generally, if a player fucks up, one of two things will be true:

  1. They know they fucked up, and don't need you to break down exactly what they did wrong, or
  2. They're too bullheaded to admit their fuckup, and will react negatively to your accusation/explanation.

Because of this, harping on somebody's mistakes is almost certainly going to simply cause drama and friction, with zero upside. If you sincerely want to identify a teachable moment, spend one or two lines explaining what happened and suggesting an alternative, respectfully. Any more than that, and you're just feeding your own desire to humiliate somebody.

But you seem to complain a lot yourself.

A 10 chat restricted game punishment is the first warning. Now is a good time to start over.

You can defend how, why and who but in the end, you are punished by your own behaviour.

Put it this way - read through it and pick out the lines where you're offering advice or encouragement to your team. Maybe 2 lines? All the rest could be deleted and your team would only be better off for it.

Imagine you were on a basketball team and you spent the whole game doing nothing but pointing out mistakes your team made and abusing them, while not offering any advice. Eventually your team would ask you not to play with them anymore.
