People that constantly ask for reports deserve to be banned

I was playing on my alt today and this team constantly kept asking to report me when I wasn't doing anything wrong. I got first blooded and someone on my team types "x9 jayce" in all chat. Entire game was my team asking enemies to report me and I have not said a word to them. My report against this dude didn't do anything as I see he continues to play the game. People constantly asking for reports should be the ones to be banned.

There is no value to asking people to report. It only takes 1 report to trigger review of the game, and additional reports do nothing. Furthermore, asking for reports is considered toxic. When you see people do this, just mute them, play the game, and report afterwards. This won't necessarily cause a penalty right away, but it moves them towards one.

As far as toxicity goes this is on the lighter side, so one single instance won't result in a punishment. But it is generally recognized as toxic and punished as such. Chat offenses (except slurs and encouraging self harm) also don't usually result in a ban as the first punishment, so it's not really possible to know whether your report had any effect.

The system punishes people based on consistency x severity. While asking for reports is considered toxic, its not severe enough to warrant a ban immediately, though if they did that over many games, they will get punished.

That said, don't worry about people reporting you for nothing. The system has the ability to validate the reports, and false reports get thrown out.
