IP Bans?

Just to throw an idea out there why doesn't riot just IP ban someone that has a history of being toxic, or maybe like make a second matchmaking system where a toxic player is forced to play with other toxic players. Idk, just rambling here after being sick of inters and toxicity in recent games.

IP Bans aren't an option, as they'd be easily circumvented and also cause unnecessary collateral damage, and Riot has already stated that they are wholly against the Prisoner's Island idea.

Because IP bans don't work nowadays. Near enough everyone uses dynamic IPs meaning, they get a new IP address every time they reboot their networking equipment/computer. Not to mention you run the risk of banning an entire innocent set of people (IE, people sharing computers/IP addresses) because one person decided to be a dick.

they dont like IP bans because sometimes with roomates, families, or internet cafes multiple people play from the same IP.

also there are a lot of people (like me) who have a dynamic IP. every time i restart my router i get a different IP address and someone else will end up getting my old one.
