Honor System Question Please Help Riot

​Is there actually a way to raise your honor back up to anything above 1 after you've dropped? All of the posts I see are of people who are stuck at honor 1 for a month plus. I understand that I was being rude in the game I got chat banned for, but also it was counterflaming. The other player wasn't even reprimanded. I just would like a good explanation on how the honor system works, because it seems completely random, and EXTREMELY discouraging. I have been trying to be as positive as possible, I have had quite a few games where I got between 3 and 4 honors consistently. I'm still at honor 1. Just a suggestion, maybe make it progressively harder to get your honor up as you go up, and make the lower levels easier. Then you can still reprimand the players who are toxic, but they can actually redeem themselves. It just seems like a relatively unfair system, some of my friends got honor 5 in less time than it's taking me to get out of honor 1.
