Is it normal to get a permanent ban with no warning?

I'm very curious to find out if permanent bans without any type of warning are common. I've never been banned before, nor I have I ever been warned about my behavior or even had a chat restriction. Yet today I received an e-mail stating I have been permanently banned due to actions taken that violate the League of Legends Terms of Use. I don't even know what I did. If you look at my match history, you will see I had a string of bad games in which I died a large number of times, so my only thought would be that I was reported for feeding. But if you look at all those games you will also see that I had kills, and CS. Anyway, I'd love a Red answer, but failing that can anyone else give me some context of straight to perma ban?

In my experience, first offense permanent bans are given for the use of unapproved 3rd party programs or (and this is no longer the case due to a change in rules) because the owner of the account had received a previous perma-ban, and all new accounts are supposed to be banned on sight. You may also have a ban for account sharing/boosting - though I believe those are normally two week bans that also strip the account of rewards and skins. There's also the possibility that it was because a payment you made to Riot was bounced back.

If your post gets enough attention, you'll likely end up with a Rioter looking into it and either confirming that the ban was justified (with reasoning) or saying whoops and reversing the suspension. My advice is to send a support ticket if you want more information, however, do not bump the ticket. That will send it back to the bottom of the queue.
