Avoid playing with people from the "Block list"

Hi,

I would really love a feature in the queue that would make it impossible to play with people I have on my "Block list".

I am pretty sure that all of us have played with toxic people or trolls and don't want to play with them again. Adding them to the "Block list" solves the problem only partially - they cannot speak to us, but they can still destroy all of our afforts during the match. There could be a checkbox before entering queue to switch this functionality on/off as it might have negative impact on the time needed to find a match. But I think this would be one of the best features in the client.

In the end, this feature would actually work as banning, but would be driven by the community. Toxic people or trolls would be on "Block lists" of a lot of people hence they would have a hard time getting into a game.

Edit (after comments from AeroWaffle):

  • the "banning" functionality could work only for one's team (so that opponents' list would not be influenced by the "Block list") - to avoid "banning" based on that how good a player is
  • the "banning" functionality could work only for ranked games - to allow non-skilled players play non-ranked games and avoid being banned because of their skill level

The issue with such a implementation is that people start using the Block feature for the wrong reasons. They start using it so they don't play with people that they feel are un-skilled, or by avoiding playing against players they feel are too skilled.

This isn't an issue at lower elos since the pool is pretty large, but in upper elos it can become a big problem.

I wouldn't mind if the feature were added to normal modes though.

Nice so you could just block all the bad players you encounter and not be on the team with them again. Sweet move. Would do wonders for the rankings.
