Got a 14 day ban late into the last season, still dishonorable to this day whilst everyone elses honor level has reset. How do i get rid of being dishonorable???

If you want to return to Honorable standings, you just need to play games without being dishonorable. Don't flame, don't be pettily sarcastic, just, overall, don't be a dick. Any valid report against you will harm your Honor progress.

Ya sorry I'm calling bull on that.

I've been lvl 0 from a chat ban for over 5 months now. Even receiving hounor in most of my games. If what you say is true then trying to climb up from 0 is pretty much impossible unless you play with friends who boost your honor every game.

One of the in game notifications is to "not keep reminding players of the same mistake." Maybe they should practice what they preach..

The perhaps your chat is still bad, just not bad enough to be punished with the next step.

Umbral is echoing direct information from Riot Tantram, so maybe ease off the sass.

Post-game honors are far from the only factor in determining who is "honorable". You also need to not be reported for dishonorable conduct. And having the same people repeatedly honor you carries diminishing returns.

If you've been stuck at 0 for five months, chances are you've been reported for being a dick to your teammates in such a way that wasn't enough to trigger another chat restriction/ban, but enough to sabotage your honor progress. You should submit a support ticket asking about it. They'll probably give you examples of stuff that's causing you to not progress.

Since Jo0o already went over the Honor progress issues, I'mma ask a question:

What exactly do you mean by "practice what they preach"? As far as I know, Dishonorable players don't get pop-ups or notifications or anything reminding them of their mistakes. Although, I've never fallen into Honor 0/1, so if I'm rightly lacking information, please do tell.

If you're account is ever penilized :

1 ) You will have a notification of your punishment pop up every time you log in and after each game you play.

2 ) They have mentioned this seasonal honour reset since the new system released; but never once mentioned that they would not be resetting people below lvl 2. That will just tick people off even more and be even less insentive to "reform" when this massive, once per year reset just shoves it in their face evwn harder.

Then they'd be stuck at honor 2, if everyone's honor reset. Why should players be entitled to a reward if they have not changed?

By that logic why bother doing it at all? Why deny better rewards to high honour players if THEY haven't changed?

ModPeriscope2 votes

You get keys from honor 2 on up. Players shouldn't be given that reward if they have not altered their behavior.

Why bother doing "it" at all

What do you mean, "it"? I'm going to assume you meant the honor reset. I don't know, I assume to coincide with the new season, or to enjoy unlocking honor all over again.

Why deny better rewards to high honour players if THEY haven't changed?

You don't get to honor 5 with negative behavior.

Jo0o2 votes

Wouldn't there be MORE incentive to reform?

Being able to wait out a clock rather than actively changing your behavior seems detrimental to a balanced honor system.

For the first, I'll just assume that Riot erred on the thought that, if you do get punished, you generally want to know when the punishment will end. Sure, it may be reminding you of your mistakes, but there are two things to consider about it.

Firstly, it's a punishment for breaking the rules. They kind of have to remind you when you log in or get out of a game - and, while I can see it getting very, very annoying on a 25-game Chat Restriction, if it's annoying to you, it should serve as a good incentive to adhere to the rules better.

Second - the in-game notification more than likely is referring to gameplay mistakes. Not breaches of the rules, but missteps, misplays, and other such happenings. Which, by the way, it's very solid advice to not mention another player's mistakes over and over. Hell, even once is probably more than enough.

For the second, though, it makes sense not to bump Honor Level 0/1 players up to Level 2 at the start of the Season. Yes, it'll undoubtedly irritate the people still stuck in Dishonorable status, but, let's be real here - they brought that on themselves.

On top of that, if they did reset Dishonorable players to Honorable status, it'd be a big "screw you" to players who worked their way out of Dishonorable status, as all their hard work and effort would have been for naught, since they could've just done jack shit and still gotten the same effect.

And, of course, being Dishonorable is supposed to be a punishment of sorts. You lose the ability to gain ambient Key Fragments, and you don't get special Honor rewards - it wouldn't make sense for the start of the Season to just wipe that punishment clean, and that's not even to mention how it aligns with the Punishment system.

There are doubtless still people out there who don't fully understand how much or how little the two systems intermingle - and regaining Honorable status but not decreasing in punishment tier would certainly confuse them.

But, even with all that said, the lack of Honor resets for Dishonorable players isn't really Riot reminding players of their mistakes.

Some of the most toxic players I'VE ever encountered were lvl's 4 and 5! And surprise!!!; They are playing in premade groups.

I have a friend who got busted down to lvl 0 only 2 days after hitting lvl 3 from a single game. He was the 5th man with a 4 man troll group. he saved the replay and no doubt, what he typed to them was EXTREMLY toxic. (I've warned him about that.) But the 4 man were legitimately trolling, wasting everyone's time, and laughing about it! all of them lvl 5 honour...

I have been is MANY Riot player surveys and I've been telling them for YEARS that the biggest problem with this game is NON VERBAL TOXICITY! there is a mute button, (I use it, but have met a mind boggling amount of people who refuse to!) but you can't mute inting, inebriated play, or troll pre mades... Seems everyone on this board just wants anyone whos ever been punished to stay punished forever though...

Well, of course some toxic players are going to slip through the cracks and obtain high Honor levels. But, that has no bearing on toxic players who are in lower Honor levels.

You can infer that, but you'd be wrong. We want people who have been punished to learn and grow, but invariably, there will be some people who just outright refuse to. For all we care, those in the latter group can stay punished for as long as it suits them.

The former group, however, we offer advice to freely, in hopes that it'll impact them and help them improve their behavior.

Well As I first mentioned, I have been lvl 0 for many months, still receiving honours but never climbing. Heck when they retired the old honour system I received every award that came with it! This new system just feels like it really rubs you past transgressions in your face!; and with no indication as to weather I'm making any progress or not! And frankly seeing all of the players who "slipped through" because their particular brand of toxicity is "harder to enforce" is really demotivating...

I'm just going to quote Jo0o for this, because in all honesty, I couldn't really put this any better, and this discussion is starting to become a bit scattered.

Not really. All you have to do to boost your honor back up is very simple.

Go into the game, mute all and play to win.

Imperial Pandaa5 votes

By playing games and not being negative.

Those who were honor level 0 and 1 did not have their honor reset.

and dont be bad at support if your bad at support and at honor 0 or 1 you wont get out because you get all the blame for the loss and the reports for losing the game

Imperial Pandaa4 votes

False reports do not matter. Only legitimate reports do.

Shroom Merchant1 votes

they do a false one can trigger a reveiw

Jo0o3 votes

Being reviewed doesn't hurt your honor, unless that review actually finds toxicity.

Kei1433 votes

being reviewed just means it's telling the system to check for toxicity. If there is none, the system with throw the report away.

Which is why we tell others 'false reports don't matter'.
