Seriously chat banned because I got flamed.

I was being spam pinged, called a t1 viewer so im useless (makes no sense but thats what my mid was saying) I was being flamed all game by my trundle, velkoz, and my support for being bad because i had a bad game and im the one that got a chat ban lol this literally makes me not wanna play the game and just uninstall because i had gotten a chat ban about a month or so ago and i JUST NOW this week had hit honor 1 checkpoint 1 and now thats ruined. also in the second game players were calling me trash when i was the only one fed on our team and couldnt carry them. I dont know why that game is in this chat ban because it was like 4 days ago.

Edit: in game 1 I was also being spammed in all chat to be reported by two of my team mates, which is reportable and they were not punished, I never got a notification after reporting them for all of their flaming and insulting.

Defending yourself is taking action to prevent harm. IRL this can mean fighting back, but the intent is to prevent further harm to yourself or another. In game this would translate to using the mute button.

Retaliation is attempting to harm another as you have been harmed. This is what happens when you say things like "u did nothing". The intent behind those words is not to stop the other person from attacking you, the intent is to harm them in kind.

Please keep this in mind when you say things like "I stood up for myself".

But I do get it. You sat there and listened to some guy flaming you instead of using the mute button. You sat there and took a verbal beating when you didn't have to, and when you reacted to that stress you did so in a way that broke the rules. It wasn't toxic, but you don't have to be toxic in order to break rules.

You didn't use the mute button when you should have. I did think about it, and unfortunately you chose the wrong action to take.

I agree with you, but will add that passive aggressiveness and sarcastically berating someone are both toxic and both appear to be present here.

Where was a passive aggressive? also I never even called anyone a single name or anything at all it makes no sense. But look at this screenshot it is the game and you can see that my lux wasn't doing well yet flaming me for no carrying and also I called zoe stupid because she was 1 shotting everyone. She was 18-5.

Edit: Theres also SO MUCH more toxic than this. I cant even consider what I said to be toxic at all honestly compared to what is said in almost every game I play. I do not deserve to lose my rewards and honor level for this and i'm sure you could agree. Especially if you saw full chat logs of what was being said to me, and the afking velkoz did.

I don't think passive aggressive means what you think it means. Name-calling is not passive. Saying things that undercut another's validity are passive aggressive. Like the things you said about people's performance in-game.

The system doesn't compare your behavior to the other behavior in that game. It compares your behavior to the baseline of what is not acceptable for anyone to do.

I was only being polite and apologized for mistakes I made yet I get chat banned when they all called me nigg*r, retard and whatnot. Yet none of them recieved bans. They even added me afterwards to continue with the flaming. I only apologized for acidentally ruining for them by picking wrong runes. Ridiculous how I got banned.

Same happened to me though. My whole team used racial slurs and inappropriate words against me because they thought I was trolling bc I went wrong runes on Garen. I got chat banned, and I got a recap of the chat messages, but I could only see me explaining to them the situation and how much I apologized. I was only being polite in chat compared to my team. Damn even the enemy team thought they were being too mean to me. Yet I get banned... For apologizing... Did nothing wrong and was only being polite.

My teammates even added me after the game to continue on flaming. Later they all messaged me laughing because I got banned. How did I even get banned? Did nothing wrong. I asked them if they had recieved bans, but they hadent.

So tell me; how come I, the good guy who made one simple mistake and clearly apologized for it but still get shit on, get a chat ban for being polite, whereas the people on my team who said the n word, called be btch, rtarded etc. didnt get bans??????

Riot needs to look more into these things. I should not have recieved a ban. Rip honor level forever. Fuck off riot

People who flame are not going to stop flaming when you prove them wrong. They don't care about facts, they just want to bash you. Reacting to them by arguing back only encourages them to say more, because it shows them that they can force you to acknowledge them if they keep doing it more. Also, trying to put them in their place for insulting you is absolutely toxic. Self defense is saying, "that's not true" or muting them. Retaliation or fighting back is not self-defense, not on the internet where you don't have to defend your honor.

Your assumption that you got punished for other people harassing you is ridiculous. The system doesn't punish you for other peoples' behavior. If it punished you then that is because it found something in your behavior to be unacceptable. It's possible that you got punished for being offensive with this comment:

Well apparently not everyone was okay with it, or nobody would have reported you. Probably shouldn't say something that can get you banned even if you think nobody will report you. People sometimes still will report you anyways.

And that's not the only thing you did wrong. As Sidewinder already explained, you tried to tear people down for flaming you. Retaliation is not self-defense.

Dude read the whole fucking comment before you reply. I'm not going to waste my time trying to help you understand what happend, how it happened, or why it happened if you're just going to stop at the first period and reply with the first thing that pops into your head.

Read with the intent to understand, not just the intent to reply.

Getting ganged up on doesn't affect the punishment system's decision about you. It only takes one report to flip the light switch that says, "review this player's behavior this game" any additional reports are like trying to turn on a switch that's already on. Additionally, whether or not you are punished is based entirely on the system's analysis of your behavior, not on how many people reported you.

Wait, so you kept arguing with people who announced their intention to report you? Dude you should have just muted them. Nothing good could come from continuing to argue with them.

you are responsible for your own actions and reactions no matter what others did to you. you may feel like you were defending yourself but you're also upsetting other people in the game who just want to play. they may consider it as harassment towards that player or negativity. were you overly toxic? no, that's why you got a chat restriction not a ban.

just remember that just because someone is being a jerk doesn't mean you can ruin the game for others too. mute if you're tempted to respond that frequently and report them.
