Banned out of the blue (hadn't even been playing the game

So I haven't played this game in MONTHS and months. I had a friend in Overwatch tell me she was going to start playing this so I installed it. So go to log in, I've been banned for Your account: jeefwee was banned due to the use of malicious 3rd party programs or modifications to your League of Legends client.

I HAVEN'T PLAYED THIS GAME IN MONTHS. I got banned 4 days ago!? What on earth is this madness. I've submitted a ticket to have this reversed as I have put a lot of money into this game. But what the heck could cause this if I only JUST installed the game!?

I mean... is someone using my account? I submitted a ticket and included my IP address and stuff to see if the activity they found was under that IP but still. Wow.

I submitted a ticket as the first one I feel just got some canned response,

I waited days for that response...

Now I'm waiting again all because I have no idea who the crap got my account banned especially since I have not shared details from my account nor have I played this in AGES.

HI! Just looked through your match history. Theres no games for a while... THEN SUDDENLY THERES A TON OF GAMES.

A ton of bot games and 2 ranked games before you got your account booted.

Check your game history. Has your account been used sometime when you were not using it. It's not that uncommon for people's account to get "hacked" and then used with cheat programs, ultimately resulting in the account being banned.

Guys let me tell you what will happen next.

A swathe of comments going "omg fuck Riot support" and they get some decent upvotes.

Then a Rioter appears and is like "Sorry guys we fked up."

That gets a TON of upvotes and then everyone is like "omfg Riot support is so awesome wtf."

They do these bans in waves, not after the offense happens. So you could use a 3rd party program in august and not get banned till October when they do a wave. This is so people don't get instant feedback and learn how to avoid being punished from using 3rd party programs. Hope this helps.

Jeefwee what can I say but .... welcome to hell. The water is warm, so jump in cause you will be here for a long while. Like you, I have been banned. Submitted support cases and gotten scripted responses. You usually have to wait 2 ~ 3 days for your next scripted response and don't expect them to allow you to prove your innocence.

I wish I could give you good news about creating a ticket and having someone actually do their job and investigate. All you will get is a basic scripted response " We detected you were cheating, you broke the T&C's, we will not tell you anything and we will never remove the ban under any circumstance." So as you can guess I am a little ahead of you here and like you I started posting on the forums.

where enough fuss was made about it someone from Riot actually decided to help out and remove the ban because it was incorrect / unjust. Anyway I thought I would just drop you a line / wright a comment and up vote cause it might help you in the long run. Good luck and I hope you get your account back.

Still no response.... it's been about 3 days since my second ticket as I was briefly informed to do as the only solution to my first ticket 3 days before that! 6 days and haven't had any information or help yet.

I took a look at your case and do see some suspicious activities on the account. Since we're not confident with our decision, I'll make a one time exception and lift the ban now. However, since we have already given you a warning, if anything related to a compromise occurred again, we will not be able to modify the ban. Furthermore, we will not be able to modify your behavioral status at this point.

As an account owner, you're responsible for all actions established on the account. This would also include keeping your credential safe. Please take the time to update your account's credential and do not share it with anyone as that's against our Terms of Use!

This looks like it means that an automated bot that spams links hacked into your account. In my other games where this happened, they just tell you to change your password and your account is unbanned. League will probably do the same. You should check if the email you used for the account is still the same. It shouldn't take days though.

my account was banned too for "third party programs". what a joke! only third party program i even use is LOLReplay which isn't against their ToS and and doesn't even modify the client in any way. In fact I haven't played normal or ranked (my account is only level 29). I mainly play 1v1 because at least with that I can leave the match whenever without penalty or featured game modes since those tend to be alot more fun than normal and don't normally carry out for 30+ minutes. Riot has FALSELY accused me of the same thing. Rest assured though I am not taking this laying down. They are in the wrong and don't want to admit it

Hana was one whi lifted my perma ban. If she stays and helps you solve the problem you will probably have positive results unless you really used 3rd party programs.

Make sure u don't have programs that run with league or even custom skins since they can count as malicious scripts. Another thing are viruses you may have on your computer that got you banned since riot is doing a ban wave on scripters and u probably got caught in it if you really didn't do anything wrong. If you are clean u will receive your account back so no worries :3

I also got banned for no reason. I played URF all day left then came back and I was perma banned with "an email explaining the reason." lo and behold no email. They haven't responded to my ticket in 4 days and I'm starting to get worried, because I've spent so much money on my account and missed the last day of URF :(. What did you submit your ticket under???

Yeah I literally didn't install it until a few days ago to find that I was banned.
