Has Anyone Ever Encountered A Rude Person In The Chat Before?

I know it's petty, but I played Summoner's Rift (Intermediate Level) and someone told me that I shouldn't be fighting along the middle because I'm not the person to do it. The person told me to go fight in the top or bottom. Pretty rude I have to say.

Yes, many. This game has a reputation for toxic chat, and is pretty damn unkind to new players. You're in for a rough learning curve, so brace yourself.

It sounds like you're lacking in the metagame knowledge of the usual roles on the Rift. Here's a quick rundown:

There are four streams of enemies to gain gold from: One in each of the three lanes, and the jungle. Five players share this by sending one player to the top lane (usually a tank or fighter-type), one player to the mid lane (usually a mage or assassin), one player to the jungle (wide variety of champs), and two players to the bottom lane (generally a marksman and a support, the support being a champ that will be gaining gold through means other than directly farming minions). Many players don't bother to communicate this in co-op vs. AI games since they're so simple for experienced players, but you should always communicate as much as you can when you're new.

I would strongly suggest reading up on the metagame, and probably watching some vids as well. Getting help from friends will help a lot.

Well, they may not have been meaning it rudely. Looking at the most recent matches you have played, you have been playing Ashe or Tryndamere predominantly. Those champions generally ARE found in either the top lane or the bottom lane in the normal meta. They may have been trying to tell you that, and just didn't use the nicest way of telling you, or explain it well. Generally speaking, Tryndamere is a top lane champion, and Ashe is a bottom lane adc. Once you have played a while longer, and are playing with other players who are more experienced, you won't find people as concerned with restrictions on which champions go where anymore.

sounds to me like you were being politely asked to learn your role.

As J000 and Vent already stated you sound pretty new, which is fine. But maybe that other person called mid first, or as they said you seem to be playing champs that typically go top or bottom lane.

If someone is being toxic or mean just mute them. Its usually a lot easier than arguing and then you can continue to focus on the game instead of typing.

Rude players alot. Personally witness a few insta-fedback report on toxic players which made my day a whole lot happier. Seeing them being punished by RIOT.

You don't have to conform to the meta game, how ever if you choose not to most people especially your teammates who will be new, or inexperienced players which make up a majority of league, will continue to complain and whine because they think the meta game is the only way to play.

As someone who played a "support" mid lane to diamond 1 I know the plights of off meta players and they issue we encounter in pvp is far greater. It's always junk when you have a bad game cause people will blame you for their mistakes

Even if your 0-1-0 with more dmg dealt at the end of the game, people will say your off meta pick was the reason, but if were being honest losing games will always be the fault of a team to fail to play.

And sometimes you just can win them all :)
