Account suspended due to 'malicious third party programs'?

A few weeks ago I saw someone played a game of ranked as Jhin on my account on October 1st so I changed my password. Since then I've played only bot games and RGM, but today I got an email that my account was suspended for malicious third party programs? I've never downloaded any programs to manipulate league, and I've only ever even played 2 ranked games over 3 years. I've submitted an account retrieval form already, but I was curious how this could have happened,if it would even be possible to retrieve my account, or maybe it's possible I downloaded something that could have flagged me? I almost never play anymore but I've had my account for over three years at this point and it means something personal to me. I appreciate any information someone can give me about the situation, thanks for your time.

If you let someone play on your account, that is automatically grounds for a suspension on its own, but the way you put it sounds like someone managed to break into your account. That person could've easily used a program to flag you.

If you noticed someone using your account and you didn't allow it, you should've informed Riot right away. They should have actions they can take in situations like that so that you can't get screwed over something like this. Personally, I don't know what you can do now other than hope it gets sorted out. Make it clear that you wasn't anything you had control over, and they might be able to help you.

File a support ticket. If you shared your account you're boned, but if you were compromised riot might take pity on you.

IMO you look sus because you didn't tell Riot that someone hacked into your account in the first place.
