Hello Everyone,
with the switch to the new client I noticed that "unsportmanlike" has now been removed from the options on the report page. So under which category would be now preferrable to report (if these behaviours are still reportable): 1. "ez", "easy" etc... 2. a player that really seems behaving like a bot (this happens with particularly high frequency in ARAM)

thanks for your answer. That is the reason why I asked the question...it is not clear to me if "easy" is still a reason for reporting someone or it isn't.

AMYS GRAVE2 votesFor botting i've always reported that under "Cheating Unapproved third party programs" as the botting scripts would qualify under this category.
And for the other i think "unsportsmanlike" was replaced with "negative attitude" which largely cover the same behaviors.

I would agree with you for the "easy" reporting as "negative attitude" (despite the description mentioning mainly complaining/griefing). However if I remember correctly "negative attitude" was also present in the last version of the client, so I am mainly wondering if the removal of the category "unsportmanlike" actually reflects a decision of making the "ez"/"easy" and general other behaviours not reportable at all.

riot will never do anything against people saying things like that because as annoying and tilting as it is, there are far worse things said between players that need the actual attention and that is what the "verbal abuse" category is for.
Ignore people saying ggez, they just want to get you fired up.

I do not know if Riot ever punished people for stating "gg easy" but the specific category "unsportmanlike" seemed to be made for such cases (not as serious as "verbal abuse" or "harrassment" but still definitely not nice).
With regards to "bots" maybe the best category could be "cheating" but i wanted to be sure, as it is very common currently in ARAM and I wanted to get it right from the beginning.

Someone plays yi or teemo?? people would smash the unsportsmanlike button. Someone didnt group up literally for ONE team fight? reported for unsportmanlike.
I think removing that button just made it easier on riot when going through the reports.

Yes ggez is not serious. That's what gets me is, you realize it's merely unsportsmanlike. So you want them punished for not being good sports? I don't get that.
This isn't directed completely towards you, but can't people just live with the fact that some people are not sportsman? Do you require a world where everyone is nice and gracious in victory and defeat? Why does everyone feel like these people should be banned from playing? It pissed you off that you lost a game and the other players rubbed it in... so you want them punished? Can't you see the entitlement in that? Just live with it.
You don't need to report people for every little faux pa that they make. Every taunt, every snide remark... let's just ban 'em huh? It's overly sensitive, sheltered, "protect me" bullshit like that, that bothers me.
I'm a nice guy, I don't like pissing people off, so I never say shit like that. I also just don't have the ego to want to assert my dominance over people. So it's not like I'm saying this because I do it, and want to protect myself.
I guess I just believe in the fact that everyone is different, with different levels of politeness and manners. Just because I'm polite and sportsmanlike, doesn't mean that I'm automatically right and anyone who isn't like me deserves to be banned. It's a choice to be sportsmanlike, and if you're making that choice, just so that other people will be sportsmanlike to you, then you made that choice for selfish reasons and that's wrong.
If you wanna be a nice guy, don't expect everyone else to be nice and live up to your standards. Don't expect people to be banned, just because you act a certain way, so they should too. It's just "ggez" and YOU are giving it the power to bother you. Live your life the way you see it best, and when someone pisses you off, don't expect the riot Police to come protect you. After all, if someone is an ass, they'll pay for it in friendships and loneliness. They shouldn't pay for it because it's against the rules. Decent people will see them being asses and they will hopefully be ostracized for it at some point in their life and they will have to learn the cause and effect. It's not your place to teach them a lesson for saying ggez.

it was not the intention of my topic and question to ask for this behaviour to be punished, as I do agree with you on this it is definitely not to me (or to you) to decide this. Moreover if you read the answer you quoted, that should have been already clear from there. However as Riot decides what is considered good and bad behaviour for their game, each player should be informed about what they deserve punishable or not and then stick with it in both not displaying that behaviour and reporting players that do. Of course as Riot always proved to be extremely open in listening to the community's opinion it could be worthwhile also to voice your agreement/disagreement with regards to their calls, but this was beyond the scope of my original post.
So far the most precise and accurate answer I got is the one below and I hope I will receive a more official answer or a reference where to clarify my doubts (as I have already done my research before posting here and did not manage to find any specific position of Riot on that)

I would personally like League of Legend to be a sportmanlike community and doing a bit of easy math, where I can state with no doubt of being proved wrong the absolute 50% of the people playing at any given moment is loosing the game (as one team always wins and one always looses) regardless being good or bad players, I would not find insane the attempt to make the experience of that 50% of players as well enjoyable or at least not too bad. So I felt totally confortable in reporting such behaviours when the category "unsportmanlike" was present, however now that is not I am wondering if these behaviours are still considered reportable (and have to be reported under a different category) or not. Of course my opinion toward these behaviours did not changed, but as I do feel obliged to respect myself the rules of this community, I do not want to report something that is not considered a break of the rules.
While the verbal abuse and the harassment are definitely more serious and also heavier to deal with during the game (and I think everyone can agree on that) I personally find the "gg easy" totally not understandable and mean with absolutely no reason. You said "It pissed you off that you lost a game and the other players rubbed it in... so you want them punished? Can't you see the entitlement in that? Just live with it." I would honestly put the matter in the other way around...why after winning a game (so being already happy for the outcome) someone should feel entitled to humiliate the opponents? That is the unsportmanlike and overall the seed of toxicity, as this behaviour is absolutely not explained by anything else than the pure and mere pleasure in denigrating the opponent players.

I totally respect your stance on it. I'm glad we can have this conversation without insults thrown in at the beginning and end (which I came close to insulting you with my "sheltered, protect me bullshit" line, and I apologize if it came off as an insult to you). As for the last point where you flipped it around, yes they are entitled to humiliate you in life for winning a game. The point is, you take it as being humiliated, while I think most reasonable people would see it as them just being asses and you should feel no humiliation. They're practically humiliating themselves by acting like that, you just don't get to see it because it's all through text.
However, in the end, this is a video game and it's Riots rules. So technically I guess they don't have the right to humiliate you. Maybe I'm thinking too much in the realm of real life, and not a video game. People have the right to offend you, just as you have the right to be offended. But since riot puts restraints on us all, you can't defend yourself when you feel attacked. So reports I suppose are your only defense and given that, you should report them. I guess I'm pretty on the fence about this issue. Since riot made the rules the way they are, I can see the sense in reporting people for minor things.
Sorry about the major digression from your original point... I just see too many posts about toxicity and chat related things when there's trolls out there ruining games through actions, not just words. I don't like the focus on social interactions because for me, it's easy to blow off or ignore toxic people. Whereas, there is no defense against int feeders, trolls, AFKers. Anyways, I don't think Riot finds ggez acceptable still and I don't use the new client yet so I don't know where you would report that but I'm sure anything that says negative attitude or verbal harassment would do. It's just so it triggers a scan of their chat logs anyways. And just put it in the description.

These are two separate issues. For gg ez I report it as grieving, and botting I report as hacks/using 3rd party programs.
