Suggestions for leaver buster system
Greetings Friend! I've had this account since I was younger and have experienced leaver buster when my mom would have me run an errand and would not let me finish a game before running that errand. I have put quite a bit of time and some money into the game and having to wait an extended period of time so that I can play a game with friends is rather discouraging. So I am here writing this not demanding that my leaver buster be lifted from my account, but to offer some suggestions to make the game more enjoyable for everyone. Please take time to read all suggestions because there are some that are better than others and they could also give you other ideas on how to make the system better. Thanks!
Suggestion 1: Add a feature where the person can pay a certain amount of money for their leaver buster to be lifted As someone who has put money into the game, and not having had an afk for a while (just recently had my first in several months), it is discouraging that I had to leave the game for only a couple minutes before rejoining to finish the game to find that i now have to wait 20 minutes before I can play 1 game. I like playing with friends, but having to wait 20 minutes between games definitely puts a damper on the little time i have to play with friends. As a student athlete I don't have all day to wait in que so if there was a way that a fine could be paid of some sort so that i could continue playing with friends without extended intermissions that we don't always have time for, i would gladly pay that fine.
Suggestion 2: Make it so that the person didn't have to wait x amount of minutes between every game As someone who likes to play game after game with friends, having to wait extended periods of time between every game makes that very hard to do. What I suggest here is that say the person has a 20 minute wait for leaver buster, they only have to wait that 20 minutes once and then for every game after that the only have to wait 5 minutes before playing another game so that there playing time isn't greatly impacted. This way things such as playing with friends is easier and they don't have to spend all day waiting because of a mistake a person has made. This leads me to my third suggestion.
Suggestion 3: Have some sort of buddy system People who play with friends are 99.9% less likely to leave the game (in my experience, however there are a few occasions where they can't avoid leaving). what I suggest here is that if a player is going to play with friend(s), that they experience either no wait time so that the group doesn't have to be punished, or make it so that the wait time between games is substantially reduced. This wait time could even be decided by the party size, each individual leaver buster penalty, etc. This would make it so that people who wanted to play together didn't have to spend extreme amounts of time (in some cases) waiting until the next game.
Suggestion 4: If the person hasn't gone afk in a long time, the next leaver buster shouldn't still go up I think that if someone has been a good player in terms of not leaving games for a very long time, the next time they go afk shouldn't be extremely severe. I suggest that if someone hasn't gone afk for several months, their leaver buster should reset to the minimum time so that if they do have to eventually go afk because of an emergency of some sort, they can still play the game without being discouraged from continuing to play the game because they messed up in the past and committed one of the worst crimes in league history.
Suggestion 5: Make normal (non-ranked games) have less of an impact on leaver buster We all hate it when someone leaves a game but if it isn't ranked, it shouldn't have as hard of an impact because nobody is losing anything they worked hard to achieve, all they lose is the potential for some extra ip and xp. Leaving a game is still bad but normal games have less importance than ranked and therefore should have less of an impact on leaver buster.
Thank you so much for spending time reading this review and I hope that the system can see some improvements hopefully in the near future. Thank you for any feedback you have about my suggestions!
Sincerely, Thesaber4
