Why punish Teammates? Leaverbuster.
I just wanted to discuss how leaverbuster punishes not only the offender, but all of their friends who may wish to play with them. I understand that players must be punished for leaving and that the leaverbuster system has a very noble purpose within the game. What confuses me is that, when my friend has an unrelated leaverbuster offense to me I have to sit in a queue with him for 20 minutes to play with him. In essence, this punishes me for his offense as well.
Why not have the leaverbuster only affect the player who left? Why not preload the waiting time to when they are logging into league? I just had a group of 4 friends get so tilted waiting for the 20 min wait on a queue that the party disbanded in a bitter argument. I sure hope none of them are going into a game now, since they will doubtlessly bring the negative attitude that annoying queue started into any games they play. Which... is another major issue.
The only difference between making the leaverbuster happen at the beginning of the queue and when a player logs in is that the player walks away from his computer at a different point in time, and players who wish to play with him are or are not punished. The player will also be more frustrated at the end of a queue leading into a match where any resulting negative attitude may cause his teammates to be punished even further, even if the player engages in a solo queue.
I understand that peer pressure adds to the effectivity of the form of leaverbuster that exists today, I just feel that its fucked up to punish us for the mistakes of others. Make the punishment harsher on the single player, force them to play a mini-game or write a small note of apology and have it be reviewed before they can play. Don't punish their friends unnecessarily.
Signed, The Friend who also got punished.
