Loot drop restriction?

Hey guys I'm confused.

I'm not getting hex tech loot drops but I haven't had any punishments (mutes/bans) in the last week. I did get the complimentary hextech case and key but during games I get a message saying "you cannot receive loot drops because of punishment." I repeat, I was punished before but the punishment ended before hextech was implemented and I actually changed my behavior. I'm fine with getting banned for future behavior but I don't think it's fair to punish me after I changed (even before hextech.)

If this isn't an error and is supposed to happen then I guess I'll deal with it. Hopefully it's a glitch since I really did change my behavior, I just get excited during games so I enjoy trash talking the other team lol.

you need to wait around 3 months after you had the punishment to be eligible for loot,

Kind of ridiculous lol. Reform should be way faster. Just set hextech loot for level 30s only. You already get permabanned for repeating offenses why waste real changed players' time?

Aslong as there is no empirical evidence, we cannot know if this will reduce toxicity. But it should be a good incentive to not being toxic.

"You should have never been toxic in the first place." Yes.... I was muted for 10 games and I learned my lesson. What's the point of punishing me again 1-2 weeks later lmfao? If anything this just frustrates reformed players and only has a negative effect.

Example:

-Muted 10 games -Play 15 games without flaming -Player gets hextech drops -Becomes toxic after drops -BANNED AND LOSES ALL DROPS

Because you have to demonstrate that you've actually reformed. That means going more than 2 weeks without an incident. I know you want it now, but if you're actually reformed, you'll get it eventually. Just be patient.

You realize that this system makes no sense right? Reformed players get punished again and unreformed (still toxic) players will just end up banned so it doesn't matter if they get drops or not.

You aren't being punished, you aren't getting a reward. You don't just get handed a reward. You have to earn it. You haven't yet earned the reward. Like I said, just keep doing what you're doing, and you'll get it.

in this case, the player will be toxic no matter what system riot implements. So the ban will be deserved.

Not true. People that just got a chat restriction a week ago are eligible while others where it's been more than 3 months are not. Just check the reddit thread's comments. Riot hasn't defined what "reformed" in this context means, but it's not tied to the punishment system's definition.

It takes 3 months for a "strike" to be removed from your account even though the punishment may only last days or weeks. Yeah it sucks for the people who were punished right before hextech came out but Riot made it very clear months ago that those who had been punished recently would not be eligible for the system.

I think this system is pretty fair though because it gives players a huge incentive NOT to get chat restricted in the future because they'll lose those rewards for 3 months (because most people really don't care about getting chat restricted.) I have a feeling this system will really reduce toxicity within a couple months.

The hextech crafting restriction is not tied to the punishment system's definition of reform. There's no set time it takes for the restriction to be removed, and Riot is not telling us what exactly reform means to hextech crafting. Just that "If your account is in good standing, it'll go away eventually".

RiotNeuroCat Hijacking the top comment here. We're working on putting out a better explanation for this. For players that are punished by the Instant Feedback system and work off the punishment, they will still be restricted from earning Hextech chests or keys for a period while the system ensures that they have reformed their behavior. There is no fixed interval here - if you continue to play with sportsmanlike behavior, you'll eventually get back into good standing. We're looking into making a player's status more clear/visible to help avoid this kind of confusion.

"This restriction will be lifted after your punishment ends and you’ve shown clear improvement. Because it’s based on your personal behavior, there’s no set date or time when this will happen."

That system would work except I have a key fragment that I got last night and woke up this morning to not being able to get anything. I dont know what happened between the one game I played last night and now but the system in place doesnt work, Bring back tribunal and let the community decide who gets banned and who stays not some robot that looks for key words and bans based on that
