Loot drop restriction?

Hey guys I'm confused.

I'm not getting hex tech loot drops but I haven't had any punishments (mutes/bans) in the last week. I did get the complimentary hextech case and key but during games I get a message saying "you cannot receive loot drops because of punishment." I repeat, I was punished before but the punishment ended before hextech was implemented and I actually changed my behavior. I'm fine with getting banned for future behavior but I don't think it's fair to punish me after I changed (even before hextech.)

If this isn't an error and is supposed to happen then I guess I'll deal with it. Hopefully it's a glitch since I really did change my behavior, I just get excited during games so I enjoy trash talking the other team lol.

you need to wait around 3 months after you had the punishment to be eligible for loot,

It takes 3 months for a "strike" to be removed from your account even though the punishment may only last days or weeks. Yeah it sucks for the people who were punished right before hextech came out but Riot made it very clear months ago that those who had been punished recently would not be eligible for the system.

I think this system is pretty fair though because it gives players a huge incentive NOT to get chat restricted in the future because they'll lose those rewards for 3 months (because most people really don't care about getting chat restricted.) I have a feeling this system will really reduce toxicity within a couple months.
