This annoys me too, but having been on both sides of this before, I can tell you that when we're not all up in your business, it's generally because we're trying to secure the win. That means Dragon, Baron, wiping out any other turrets that might be left, going home and buying before making the final run.
I've personally been on games that were lost thanks to running in too fast, getting aced, and then the game was turned around.
If you think the game is lost, just /ff - a surrender and a loss are equivalent as far as rank is concerned.
