Why did I get chat restricted?

1 game, was at honor level 2, level 2. Now I'm honor level 1 because people in my game said "better jg wins" and I can't let that slide. Please tell me how I could have handled this situation differently. Yes, I'll get downvotes, but I'm trying to improve. I made this account to not get banned, vowing to never be toxic. What part of this chat is toxic? I get it looks bad, but the people talking to me are 0/14 and flaming me, acting like it's my fault. I genuinely don't understand why I'm supposed to be the punching bag, sitting there muting them so I won't rage. I appreciate all feedback.

Flaming/blaming, and harassing others and calling for reports.

Bolded attitude is the issue on how to handle things differently.

Stop reading the chat and just play your game.

Riot has made it so anything that can be construed negatively(which is basically everything) is toxic...so just don't chat.

That is why you are chat restricted. When you gain the ability to restrain yourself from flaming your team at the slightest perceived offense, you'll be much less likely to break the rules and receive a punishment.

Let things slide, at least until the post-game lobby where you send in a report. Responding to misbehavior in chat with some misbehavior of your own does no good.

You argued most of the time, promised to mute people but apparently didn't and kept arguing instead, insulted teammates' intelligence, harassed teammates for their scores, called for reports (one report does as much as nine; calling for reports is just harassment), announced intent to report (useless harassment).

That doesn't impact your punishment, which is based on what you choose to do. If someone's chat messages are bothering you, mute them. If someone's chat messages broke the rules, report them.

How in the world can you be a punching bag after muting them? You literally won't even be able to tell whether they're doing any "punching."

Practical advice: every time you feel like ignoring the rules and doing whatever you want, imagine how silly you'd feel when you not only get a punishment for it but also display to a bunch of strangers how you broke rules that you were fully aware of and reaped the reward. That's how I avoid traffic tickets, by the way.

I'm against toxicity, but I've seen way worse than that, though.

However, you have to understand that unfortunately Riot doesn't care at all about the context of your flaming. So, I know it sucks, I hate it too, but just mute people. You're not "letting that slide", you're shutting them up. Maybe drop a little something like "I don't want to hear an idiot just like you. Muted.". It might make you feel better because you got back at them, and I reaaaalllly doubt you'll get banned for that.
