There should be a way to chat restrict myself.

This is one of those suggestion/player behavior improvement things. Sometimes I'm feeling really bad while playing league, either I'm tilted or mad about something irl or whatever and I want to vent at my teammates by sarcastically mocking their play or just being a bad teammate in chat. Because I realize this is a tendency of mine if a teammate responds to the things I say I often apologize for being an asshole and tell them to please mute me before I tilt them but I have never once seen someone actually do it. There should be an option for me chat restrict myself so I can type in the chat bar but no one can see what I'm saying, similar to how a chat restriction works.

If the other player cannot read what you type, what is the purpose of typing in chat? Does it feel better for you to type out a string of insults instead of simply saying it out loud? I honestly do not understand the logic behind self chat restriction ideas. Just don't type in chat. I've dropped my fair share of flame in game, I have never regretted a single insult and have always been prepared for the consequences of my actions. If getting banned isn't worth what you want to type, simply don't type it.

Go to your settings and disable ALL CHAT. You can disable the box and won't see (or be able to type in) ALL CHAT. I know how tough it is to have your Freedom of Speech denied in-game. I really do. I actually made a post for it as well. I don't think we should be restricted. I think the snowflakes should learn how to mute/ignore people like us who can't help but be socially blatant. Nobody has the right amount of brain cells to mute/ignore us but we are said to be stupid to not know how to keep quiet? That is basically communism/dictatorship.

The old client let you keybind the chat (<ENTER>) key. Don't know why they removed that.

something that disables chat before the game starts and is unable to be turned back on in game would be nice. mainly for playing jungle in low elo where literally everything is your fault and players are toxic af.

also if you could make a usb breathalyzer test that stop me from playing when im drunk. that would be great too :)

Remove the enter key from your keyboard. Easy to put back on.

Alternatively, disable it. My keyboard software lets me do this. Yours might.

riot would not have a potential future excuse to steal your account so they wont implenment this.
