I've been looking at boards lately, and a lot of people are asking why they have been banned even though they constantly swear in game, are toxic, salty etc. just.. why...

In my understanding, this board was made for players to come and talk about why they don't think they deserve bans as it is a way for us to help them realize what they made a mistake on. So it's completely normal for posts related to bans.

I see most cases fall under one of three categories:

  1. Swearing out team mates because "swearing is OK" without realizing it means you can say "Oh man I'm gonna shit my pants if Rengar ults me again"

  2. "It's not hate speech, my freedom of speech is being obstructed."

  3. "Why can they troll but I can't talk shit to them, it's just a video game, mute me"

It's up to us to inform them of their errors and hope they understand and stop.

In my opinion that is because riot is banning considerably quick in some cases. I remember with the old tribunal you actually had to be quite toxic for multiple games, and also have had multiple chat restrictions already, before you would actually get a 14-day or permanent ban. So it was pretty clear why you would be banned if this were to happen to you. Nowadays there are people saying something like 'kys' or '%%%got' pretty much just once, and they already get banned for it 14-days instantly. Never having received any punishments before. You can also get permabanned for saying stuff like 'gg ez noobs' nowadays, were this earlier would result in a ranked restriction at max. So that explains why a lot of people are coming here questioning their ban nowadays.
