Hilarious ban. This company has become Orwellian.

I already know what the majority of the community will say to these logs. "you were toxic" blah blah blah. The point I want to make here, is that compared to what was being said and done to me, my comments are incredibly tame, especially in game 2 and 3. I really don't care about getting anything repealed, as I honestly just think its hilarious that i literally just got suspended for GETTING trolled and harassed by the league community at large. The worst part is riot encourages this behavior by letting people ping my runes, items and champion etc. I get that you people don't like off meta, but that doesn't give people the right to berate me for 30 minutes, and I definitely shouldn't be banned for standing up for myself when 3 or 4 other people are harassing me simply because they don't like the character i picked in a video game. Honestly pathetic.

I dare any rioter to post the full logs for these games so that there can be a record of how incredibly toxic your ENTIRE community has become, or maybe to prove what I am saying wrong. Either way, I would love for the names to be removed from the chat logs and have both the chat and ping logs posted in conjunction. You have the most toxic community in the world, and your game encourages toxicity further, and you probably know it and use it as a business strategy to force people to buy new accounts when they inevitably get sick of your incredibly toxic community and game.

I dare riot or any mod, or any red to prove me wrong by posting the logs, show everyone that you ban properly and that i'm the toxic one, not your game or community.

You seem to be under the assumption of, because other people behaved poorly, that it somehow frees you from the responsibility from your own behavior.

It doesn't.

Grubner1 votes

I believe i already adressed your post when i stated that the community would FOB me of with "you were toxic"

AeroWaffle3 votes

I'm not talking about your in-game behavior, I'm talking about your justification.

Grubner1 votes

yes, and the whole entire reason i stated that sentence was my way of saying "i dont really care to hear the meme posts that i know are coming" but you just went right on ahead and meme'd me anyway didnt you! you little rascal you!

AeroWaffle4 votes

You more or less understood that your behavior was poor already. But you're attempting to argue that you were somehow justified in your poor behavior because other players were being worse.

I'm telling you that justification doesn't fly.

Grubner1 votes

Nope, not justified. Just pointing out that the system does not work well. Sure, maybe i deserved a punishment for what I did, and I got one. But I know for certain that the players on my team who were far more toxic did NOT receive a punishment, and THAT is the point.

AeroWaffle3 votes

Given that you don't know their status in the punishment system, the frequency of their poor behavior, or if they received chat restrictions you're not operating on enough information to make the claim that the system treated you differently compared to them.

Grubner1 votes

Actually I have several accounts and am currently chatting with them on another account while they play and troll other people telling me about it.

AeroWaffle3 votes

That's two chains of people I wouldn't believe.

The first chain would be the trolls. The last thing I would do is believe what a troll tells me. The second chain would be you. I'm not about to believe that you contact other people that piss you off, that they accept the friend invite, and you just start chatting with them.

Grubner1 votes

actually, they added me. and of course not, It's not like I care if you believe me or not, move on to the next thread. cya around.

AeroWaffle3 votes

After they play against your account that gets banned, they somehow send a friend request to one of your other accounts.

Riiiiiight

And, in case you weren't aware, the client informs you when action is taken as a result of your report.

But that's just it. We aren't comparing you to anyone. You are judged on your own. This isn't a "rank the community and ban the most toxic 10%" - a fluid and variable level of "ban worthy". No, it's a "if you're toxic, you get punished". It doesn't matter if others were being more toxic or if they started.

Keep in mind that your toxicity did absolutely jack shit to help the situation. Others likely continued being toxic because you were being toxic back - toxicity breeds toxicity. You can either choose to break that cycle by muting them or moving on, or you can further that cycle and ruin your game and others by being toxic back.

Grubner1 votes

Ok that's great, So could riot show me what they have done to those who were easily 10 times as toxic as i was? Because I guarantee you they are still playing league on that account with their troll buddies, making other people rage.

Also, I am uninterested in what you have to say in general, I've seen your posts and honestly I couldn't care less about anything you have to say. You seem like an intelligent fellow, just very misled.

Chermorg11 votes

No. You aren't the jury, judge, police, the ombudsman.. you have no right to the account information of others.

You're making a guarantee you know you can't keep.

Grubner1 votes

Also, just saying, the only reason I KNOW I can't keep it is because I know riot will never post the logs because they would look very foolish if they gave players their entire logs while banning them, which is exactly why they don't, no matter what they tell idiots like you to believe.

Chermorg4 votes

They wouldn't look foolish at all, because your punishment is based on your actions, not anyone else's.

I'm confused as to how 90+% of the community understands this but you don't.

Nah, just saying other people being more_toxic doesn’t matter is a cop out, because you just said toxicity breeds toxicity._ It does matter and those people are passive aggressively flaming this dude. I feel for this guy, he probably had a team full of trash, I’ve been in those games and I know how to game the system now so I don’t get banned too, but still, these bans are bullshit and you know it. They need to just ban people until they pay a fine lol... pay a fine to get your account back. That’s would do well and make Riot money too.

TrulyBland3 votes

Which will act as a permaban for anybody unwilling to pay the fine and less than a permaban for anybody that is willing to pay the fine..

How exactly are you expecting this to work any better as a deterrence than permabans?

Because perma bans are not something that should even exist. Riot needs to fix their game, not their players. It’s not our fucking job, it’s RIOTS JOB! They failed, they need to try again! I have given plenty of great advice on how to deal with this whole “Toxic” thing. Get rid of chat, force third party clients upon players, problem solved.

No perma bans is best for the game, and if they start fining people Riot makes money and people will learn or pay money. Just like people who get fined in real life, duh.

TrulyBland3 votes

Riot needs to fix their game, not their players.

So if they don't need to fix their players, why even make them pay a fine?

No perma bans is best for the game

Yet you are literally asking for permabans for anybody who A) Doesn't have the money to spare for a fine B) Didn't invest enough into the account for paying the fine to make sense C) Simply doesn't wish to pay the fine for whatever other reason they come up with.

people will learn or pay money

or create another account which is already currently the only way to circumvent a permaban.

You change nothing. Except for making bad behaviour acceptable if you are willing to spend money.

Yeah I want broke nerds to have to pay or shut up. Yup yup yup!

It’s not a perma ban, it’s a suspension until you pay. Besides a ban won’t allow access to the account. What I propose is no ranked or normal games allowed until you pay. Much better than a perma ban, you can still log in and chat, spectate, and play the other modes. Just no normals and ranked.

TrulyBland3 votes

People who enjoy primarily, or only, normal and ranked games and who do have no intention of paying such a fine will still be effectively permabanned. Either you disagree with permabans on principle or you don't. But pretending to disagree with them on principle while shifting them to an area where they do not effect a specific part of the playerbase shows your hipocrisy at worst and your laziness to construct an actually nuanced and consistent argument at best.

And what's the point in allowing them to chat and spectate? You can very quickly get that simply by creating a new account. So technically permabans don't really have any effect there as it is.

I’m glad you and I both agree that perma bans are pointless, thus they should not exist, you’re cool. Agreed buddies.

HalcyonDweller2 votes

Pretending other people said things they didn't say is really scummy. You forced them to engage in this hypothetical discussion about fines vs permabans. You are the one who led them into a situation where their words taken literally could be misinterpreted. And YOU chose to then misinterpret their words to try and pretend that they believe something which they obviously don't believe.

What the fuck is wrong with you?

"It's not a shooting, I just launched a projectile at the man with an explosive device!"

Dude, if you took even one second to think about it you'd see what they meant. If someone is unable or unwilling to pay the fine then it is effectively a permaban. You can't hide it behind flowery language.

So if the comparison is made to driving. When you get a suspended license for unpaid tickets, that means you are permanently barred from driving?

I guess you make a lot of sense dude. Thanks for playing.

HalcyonDweller1 votes

Flowery language. Your argument is invalid.

People will just make new accounts the same as they did before. All this does is protect the rich who don't care about spending money. They can be as toxic as they want and just pay the fine, while people who can't afford to spare that much money for a fine will be forced to leave their accounts banned. As bland pointed out your "solution" literally only creates more problems by making rich people immune to punishments.

it's a garbage solution. I was gonna be nice about it but the way you treated Bland was extremely disappointing. You don't deserve the respect required to be nice about it.

TrulyBland1 votes

Apples and oranges.

I'm not from the US, so what I say I say with a bit of googling and random possibly outdated stuff I remember: Suspending a license is the punishment FOR not paying fines in the first place. Suspending the license is, in this case, not the original punishment that is lifted upon paying fines. That nuance aside, it's funny that you should mention this exact example, because there's a lot of controversy around this practice because it is de facto a permanent ban from driving for unemployed people, as they have extreme difficulties finding a job without an active driver's license.

So to answer your question: For a specific group of people? Yes. Absolutely.

DBS Ronovon1 votes

[deleted]

TrulyBland1 votes

Kinda funny... One of the first links I found on the subject (which reconfirmed what I remembered) was about a bill introduced by a republican senator on changing the system in virginia for the exact reasons that I mentioned.

But yeah, clearly this is something that can simply be filed under "liberal" and denied any consideration. Earlier I had put it as a question, now I can put it as a statement: Your brain is clearly too resistant to any thoughts that challenge its world view, so there's absolutely no point in discussing this or the original point with you.

Have fun.

Great system, I know! Riot makes more money, no one gets banned. Win win. Don’t be a dick and you’ll save money, right? That’s how regular laws and society works, why not copy that model, huh?

First fine $5, second fine $10, 3rd fine $20. Every fine after that is $25, and just keep fining people, and they will not be able to play Ranked or Normals until they pay up. Lol!

No, horrible system. One should not be able to bypass the rules just because they have more money.

Why not? People do it all the time in the court system.

Here is why I think they should be able to bypass the rules:

  1. It’s not a real sport, it’s not even an E Sport, it’s a game, so people should never be banned for misconduct like in real sports.

  2. Riot is running a business, what is the goal of a business?

Don’t answer, I know the answer already and I’ll tell you. ITS TO MAKE THE MOST MONEY! Wow look at that everyone!

  1. It will give people a real reason not to break the rules, instead of banning accounts when people just make new accounts for free. Actual money and fines is a consequence, not pretending some behavior modification strategy will ever work (WHICH IT WON’T) so yeah the system is trash and broken. My idea is way better. Thanks.

Be sure to tell that to those teams in the LCS.

Riot would likely lose much more money than they would gain if they started implementing such a system. The amount of bad press alone would hit the popularity hard.

It will give people a real reason not to break the rules, instead of banning accounts when people just make new accounts for free.

People would still be able to create new accounts in your purposed system, so you didn't fix the problem at all. You just made perma-bans less significant to people with more money. You make the problem worse.

The LCS is a crock of shit too. They don’t even play the same game we play.

I wish people would stop pretending.

How is giving people with more money the ability to pay more money in fines going to make Riot less money? Explain the logic in that lol.....

Riot already have horrible PR, horrible reputation, and people hate the game now. Everyone is leaving to play Fortnight and PubG, just look at the stats. League is dying, I stopped playing and I thought I’d never stop playing because the game was so damn fun.

Money changes everything guy. If you think my idea wouldn’t work, just start charging to make new accounts. Problem solved.

That's all your opinion, but the fact of the matter is League of Legends is one of the most popular videogames to play professionally representing a region.

How is giving people with more money the ability to pay more money in fines going to make Riot less money? Explain the logic in that lol.....

If people believe that Riot accepts money to allow you to bypass the rules people will quit. I'm not going to explain why people would quit over an immoral practice.

And now it just turns into a rant. If you are done with league, leave. People are constantly saying game XYZ is going to be the death of league.

First it was Dota2, then it was Hearthstone, then it was Overwatch. League is still around. Now it's Pubg and Fortnite. Pubg and Fornite arn't even the same genre of League and thus draw in different types of players. Only time will tell when League will peter out but they've continued for years while perma-banning players so it's obviously not that practice that will end league.

It’s not just my opinion. LCS isn’t credible. It’s the same people dude, ever wonder why that is? You know LCS isn’t the same as the league we play, right? Tell me you are aware they are different. Why would you think LCS is credible as an E sport if you know it’s rigged and not really league? If pro foot ball changed the rules of the game people would not think it was credible either, right?

If people find out anything about the game, but the game is good and fun, they will play the game plain and simple. How is this concept so hard for you to understand?

Dota2? Nah, I’m talking about current games like Fortnight bringing tons of league players over because it’s less toxic, quicker to get into games, less stress, and more FUN. That’s why League will either change and become fun again or die. That’s it.

As for me leaving league, I am done, gone, bounced, moved on. Don’t bug me about leaving the forums though, I’m here to stay so quit wasting your breath on that buddy.
