And he raged i mean they were blaming him because they were feeding on theyre lanes and he couldnt gank them because they were constantly pushing in. The forum is not for contacting Riot about bans. It's for getting input from the community about your ban.
Without seeing the chat logs, all I can say is one person's poor behavior doesn't excuse further poor behavior. You are responsible for your own behavior regardless of how others are acting.

The solution to that was to use the mute button on them.

No, he was counter attacking. Defending is using the mute button or replying calmly, not losing your head and going all keyboard warrior.
You're openly admitting your friend raged and yet you say he got banned for nothing.
Also it's quite the task to get banned due to a first time offense, so either he raged REALLY hard, and I'm talking racial slurs, or your friend has a pattern.
Well .. Riot's goal for permabanning him is to get him out of league. So if he quits, Riot suceeded in doing what they wanted.
