Got Chat Restricted for "Arguing"

Hey, I got chat restricted for having a negative attitude. However, I think that that was an unfair assessment. Here's some context: I called jungle and then picked Kayn and locked in. The last guy to call says that he hates Kayn players and will troll me until I quit. He locks in Ivern jungle and proceeds to take all my camps by passive + smite. Veigar was tilted and began to yell at everyone and calling people names. After this game, I get a chat restriction because I apparently was "arguing" which "spreads negativity". I don't cuss and I am actively trying to chill out since it's just a normal game, yet apparently, I'm making the situation worse.

Yep. Let's look at how you OPEN the match.

You're immediately on his case, which is just unnecessary even if he's causing issues.

This is more of the same, with a bit of you laughing at him in there and a completely unwarranted "smarter than you" thrown in for good measure.

This does deserve a chat restriction, yes. You could have left the situation well enough alone, not antagonized your teammates, not laughed at them, and merely muted and/or reported them. Instead you decided to engage in some low-key baiting and jab back at them all game, which isn't a good way to build a good game environment.

As a Rioter once told me:

  • As the saying goes "Two wrongs don't make a right" I recommend just muting players you are having issues with and refrain from saying negative comments or arguing with them to avoid receiving reports/punishments in the future.

Besides, you were very toxic according to your chat. Looks like you should have listened to the Veigar and avoided typing back.
