Banned for Malicious Software?

Hi,

I was recently "Banned due to the use of malicious 3rd party programs or modifications to your League of Legends client." I have never messed with any of the files or used any league of legends program what so ever on my computer. My computer can barley run the game as it is. I'm sure my ban was some sort of mistake. Is there any way i can fight this ban? I didn't even realize I was banned since I'm working every day. Please help. I've spent alot of hours and money working on my account..

I've never seen someone get banned for "Third party or malicious software" that did not fully deserve it, ever. I've never seen one of those bans overturned because, surprise surprise, these people were invariably violating the rule in some capacity.

But let's hope you are the one that breaks the trend; If you are telling the truth, file a support ticket and get in contact with a Riot representative ASAP.

Hey iOnslaught,

You'll want to submit a Support Ticket for this. Keep in mind that if you have shared your account information or are sharing a computer that others may have been using the illegal 3rd party applications and you will be responsible for that. If you feel your account was compromised you can run an account recovery ticket for that, and if successful they will reverse the actions taken by the other people.

They didn't "mess up".

They have been doing these ban waves since Season 4. They know exactly what they are doing and looking for.

How are you so sure they didnt? And who cares how long they have doing this? The system is subject to flaws, it isnt perfect and i know this is one of those situations. And trust me the ToS was reviewed by me and my legal team. I'll be getting my account back.

Nope, since their only functions is to make calls.

Usually with "3rd party programs" its anything that could be use to change the game up file wise, or using programs that basically auto play the game for you. This is one reason why people asked if someone was on your account, especially for boosting because majority of the time the people who helps boost your account uses these program so they can be as fast as possible. As well as people who sell accounts that are already level 30 uses these services. This is also a reason why there are "Grey Area" of other programs like changing the announcer, game audio, custom skins. While these types of programs only does those things, the detection they have might trigger it as something else which could in turn ban your account. Also while im not 100% about this, VPN (i think that is what they are called) could potentially trick the system into thinking your account is in another state/region when you are still in the same area.

All in all just try and contact support. Try and tell them everything you do have on your computer, anything that could help, and if you are telling the truth i hope they can help you.

Appreciate the help. I placed a support ticket as I was advised but i got an email saying they may take a while to respond. And i definitely dont even know people who ELO boost and i wouldnt risk it on this account regardless due to the amount of money I've spent on it. Is there also a customer support email where I can directly contact support or is the ticket sufficient? One of my buddies told me once he got banned for being toxic and had to wait 6 months for a replay. Hopefully this isnt the case. I just want my account back. I hadnt logged on in several days when i got the email so it came as a surprise to me. Im not a tech saavy guy either so I wouldnt know how those programs work. I hope Riot does the right thing here and at least further investigate whats going on.

They are basically saying I am perma-banned since i was hacking or using this party software... This is literally IMPOSSIBLE. I need to know what steps I can take in regards to this because i spent too much time and money on that account and this game to be banned for something I did not do. Somebody please guide me in the right direction. I will literally gift you if you can help me...

I have same problem here. I send ticket to Riot and got answer like this:

Hello TwinklySweet,

Your account has been permanently suspended following the use of scripts, hacks, exploits or unauthorized third-party programs in League of Legends. Accounts that are caught using hacks to gain an unfair competitive advantage are subject to permanent suspension. We work hard to preserve a fair and competitive environment in League of Legends. Regardless of intent, use of unauthorized third-party programs is explicitly against the Terms of Use, which can be found here:

Keep in mind that account sharing of any kind is also against the Terms of Use. You are responsible for all activity on your account, so be sure to keep your account information to yourself.

They sent me a similar email and in no way did i ever cheat or hack or any of that.. I am looking into counsel because i spent too much time and money on this account for it to be banned for something I didn't do. As soon as I sent them a letter from my lawyer they started saying that now they cannot continue communication with me since i threatened to sue. All i want is my account back and I'm positive there must be some king of glitch with their detection system. I am going to see how this process follows through and then I'll let you know.

The amount of times these programs were used doesn't matter, as doing so even once is a serious offense.

Altering our game's files are not allowed and you never know what other programs may be doing in the background either, so we don't recommend the installation of any third party programs in the best interest of protecting your account. Please be aware that the programs you mentioned did not cause this suspension to occur. There were other programs involved that violated our ToU, and that is why we were forced to take action.

Sorry, but as we found this ban was issued correctly, we will not be able to adjust it.

Trust me, I wouldn't be going this hard for something if i wasn't positive that I am innocent. Even if they keep saying they have solid proof, i assure you that is Impossible. I'm just waiting to get a response from Riot's legal team, hopefully they take this matter as serious as I am.
