Player Moderation is a Joke

I know the Tribunal system wasn't perfect, but the state of the "community" and moderation of it is a joke right now.

Ping spam reaches the top of boards on a weekly basis. We can get updates to ARAM and poros, but still nothing to address it.

You can AFK in as many games as you want, but as long as you don't leave, you won't be punished. I've had teammates AFK with match histories showing multiple AFKs per day, yet they still play.

And don't even get me started on inting. It seems like as long as you stay under 40 deaths you're in the clear.

I get that the most toxic players are probably big spenders, but they're also addicts and will just spend double if you ban their main account.

It sounds like you are suffering from "I can't see the system working so it must be shit" syndrome.

Current priority for Riot's engineers:

  1. New client
  2. New Honor system

After those two I am crossing my fingers so we get a system that improves behavioral visibility.

RIOT is a worthless company. This is MY opinion. Let me tell you a story. Here is how they made me quit in 3 steps.

In 2014 they increased prices because of depreciation of euro against dollar. For years they loved and enjoyed the fact that euro was a stronger currency but when UE decided to lower a bit its value, RIOT have immediately increased all prices. Since that day I have stopped supporting them with my money.

6 months ago I met the worst player and person ever in this game. Just take a look. That player managed to play - and he's still playing - over 100 ranked games with a solid 8% win rate, a KDA of 0.65 ruining the experience of almost 1.000 players. I kept following this guy for weeks and I kept adding his team mates and opponents asking for their opinion and they all told me countless times that they reported him. He received no punishment and he's still playing and ruining games. Since that day I lost all my respect for RIOT.

For 1.5 years every single month I opened a thread asking for informations about Shen my main (1.6M mastery points) a champion that sucks in soloQ. I received no one single answer but instead 1 rework, 3 direct nerfs and tens of indirect ones. 3 days ago they nerfed him even more seriously just because in competitive play he works well (guess why? all premades). They changed Shen totally ignoring the opinion of mains and other players. A company that ignores feedback for so long and that in a single patch destroys the experience of thousands of players no longer deserves me as a player. Since than, I decided to quit this game.

I don't want to sound odd. I know that this is just a game but every time they did a bad move according to my opinion, I took my countermeasures. I didn't turn into a flamer or feeder. I kept respecting everyone. I simply refused to support RIOT with my money, I decided not to trust them blindly and to discourage friends from playing this game. Every single time I completed all their surveys to let them know my point of view but, I expressed my opinion on their posts but, since it seems that they don't care, I decided to quit.

This game no longer deserves my time, passion, support, money, feedback, patience and efforts. Watching commercials on TV is more enjoyable.

Do you have evidence of this ever happening? I think 40 deaths is a pretty extraordinary feat and would require all 9 others working together to make that happen.

I died 5 times in my lane because if a 4 man gank with no Mia pings I had things warded but as soon as the wards went out bam and I got called out for int, I feel that most 90% of the ppl that play don't know what intentiall feeding really is

Yep. My friends one. Horrible to play with. Volatile as hell. Hes had 6 permabands? Close to that. He buys every champion on every new account, he also has to have a skin for each. All because he can't handle losing, or doing poorly.

I never had much trouble with it. Minimize chat as much as possible Dont read chat Dont chat Use pings to communicate

Afk for 1-2 minutes once or twice while in game is normal for normal people. Expecting every single person to be glued to the screen for 30-50 minutes is not normal. (bathroom, drink, phone, unexpected door knocking etc)

I regularly get feedback that the people I report get punished. I'm not inclined to believe that the system isn't working unless I have proof.

The system only works when people actually use the report function. If they aren't doing that, it isn't Riot's fault. That's the only sure-fire way to make sure problem players get punished, and more people need to learn to use it effectively.

Don't punish because you don't like someone. And DO punish when they break the summoner's code. You can't punish them for playing the game, and you SHOULD punish them when they are not playing the game. It's pretty simple, yet I think many people, because of the bystander effect, simply don't use the function. I'd love to see stats on it.
