Worth Perma-ban?

So, recently i had a couple of great games filled with toxic players. As a player, who never reports anyone except for being afk or clearly running down mid, i never really cared for someone to occasionally call me dumb in the case if i did something stupid. It's a competitive game after all, people get heated. Seems that there are saltier players in the league who really like to do harm to other players by hypocritically reporting others for the same "offences" committed by themselves. And this is a general flaw of the system, in my opinion, that i wanted to address. Taking messages out of context is absolutely wrong and issuer of report should be analyzed for the same thing. But that's just a side note on how i feel coming to this situation.

That aside, here is the background on my account.

  • 2 Seasons or something like that ago i got a chat restriction, bear in mind, during the time when i rarely met a player who didn't have it due to way it was designed. Your best bet of not getting it was not using chat at all or the very least proofreading your message like your research paper! :D
  • 3 weeks ago or so i got a 14 day ban for the chat log of one game where i said in total maybe 2 or 3 bad words. Now, i was kind of surprised about it, but knowing that one of my challenger friends got banned in a similar fashion, i didn't think that an instant perma-ban will follow. You know, it made sense to me that 14 day or month bans would somehow be a better food for thought for the summoner.
  • Got perma ban now, for 2 games of chat where there were multiple teammates constantly saying something profane. (This however, is not something i've encountered in only last 2 games, but almost every game)

To give context, in none of my bans i was using all chat to flame anyone. In none of my bans i addressed someone directly to start the exchange of words and, in fact, if you would be given a full chat transcript, all of them are answers either to pointless flame or profane tips on how to do something. Some of the messages, i agree, are a bit profane way to answer to already profane flame directed my way.

Here is what i wrote during these 2 games (each approx 25 mins) and i will give additional context to few messages. One could argue that right here i should just mute him or something, but i feel like it impairs the total capability of team coordination. One could also say that there must be another better way to make him silent, but then again, tell me, do we as a society go the extra mile and put prisoners in 5 star hotels, just to be nice, or we save our time and resources and put them into most basic required conditions? Why would i give a toxic person the super extra courtesy of my time to make a lengthy and polite response? I am looking forward to win, and writing it that way really saved me the time. Now the profane additions are of course, just a reflection of speech)

  1. So, as one can see, and could see even better if given the whole chat, my messages are answers rather than just straight up attempts to cyber-bully some person.
  2. Previous 14 day ban was due to 1 game only, but i agree it was justified, although i seriously doubt the riots call on this one.
  3. Players who don't like profane language have profanity filters anyways. Nowhere did i try to deliberately bypass these filters in order to make the person see these words if he didn't want to.
  4. I don't believe that this is how 0,0006% most toxic players look like, because, as riot puts it, i'm among 0,006% of players to be toxic enough to be perma-banned. I wouldn't have protested chat restriction or something like that, because there clearly are some profane messages there, and well, that at least seems to be somewhat proportional punishment, as that is really the only offence i have committed at all. Never have i deliberately fed or trolled my teammates in a way that it would impact their games past their capability to mute me.
  5. If one would take a look at my recent match history, one would notice how many games i've pulled out through leadership and by just not giving up and supporting my team, that was feeling down. Wish they would show most honored players in these games and would provide chat transcript on those too!
  1. Even if you take a look at these 2 games i lost and for which i was banned, i was still the player, who was not the furthest behind and dragging the team down in means of actual game.
  1. My main question here is, am i really that toxic person and have i done something so wrong to be permanently denied access to the game which i've played for roughly 5 years? Is chat restriction 2 season ago, when it was epidemic, and one 14 day ban on the basis of chat log of one game that is a tiny number compared to games in which i've been most honored and well performing player enough to just slam a perma ban on account in which i've also invested my own money? Is that the true definition of extremely toxic player ranked among 0,006% of worst players in the league, who borderline purposefully try to ruin other people games and waste their time? Is this one the case?

I really feel like current system and overlook has failed me and that is the reason i'm turning to you, community, for help.

There are different tiers of punishments, and they generally follow this path:

  • First Offense: 10 Game Chat Restriction
  • Second Offense: 25 Game Chat Restriction
  • Third Offense: Two Week Suspension
  • Fourth Offense: Permanent Suspension

Because you had a recent 14 day, -any- further punishments are guaranteed to result in a permanent ban. Anything that other players said or did is completely irrelevant, as you are solely responsible for your behavior.

You constantly harassed your teammates, called them names, had a negative attitude the entire game, and went as far as telling another human being to -kill themselves- over a video game twice. In short, yes, the ban was warranted.

Should you feel the desire to make a new account and keep playing, I highly suggest you stop worrying about other people and what they say or do and focus on nothing but yourself. Your behavior will always be your responsibility, and nothing anyone else says or does will ever give you the right to stoop to their level. Play the game to the best of your ability regardless of whats going on around you, mute any toxic people and report them after the game, and you'll be fine.

tl:dr person wrote kys and got banned for it. the chat system does not care if it actually was meant as "keep yourself safe" and everyone who is stupid enough to try and mess with the system by using 0 tolerance phrases deserves the ban just for being a f. idiot.

Suggesting suicide and being smug about it is a perma ban with no questions asked. Suicide is a serious issue, and it has directly affected me and many others.
