I keep getting supports that refuse to buy wards because they need their ap items such as deathcap 
or laindyrs 
. But looking back at the support singed case where he was threatened to be banned for not playing his role could you not say the same for these people not buying wards and instead being damage dealers? I was looking for a clear answer to this since it's become very annoying to play ranked games in gold with out a support.
Packun Flower5 votesNo its not reportable. Warding is everyone's job not just the supports. And tough it may be frowned upon, you can't report a player for refusing to buy the items you want them to buy, or building a way you want them to build.

Warding and clearing wards is up to everyone. Typically the support is expected to get a Sightstone since they are supposed to be functional at low income.

Support singed wasn't in lane, didn't provide any utility to their adc, and was overall a non-meta role. That got to the point there was legitimately no role he fit in (he made his own role).
Just buying AP items doesn't mean they aren't playing support. Janna with AP? OP as fuck shields that give you massive amount of AD. Soraka with AP? Massive healzies. Blitz with AP? Pull=instant kill.
Mig891 votesIf we're extremely snowballing and I'm playing Leona, I'll grab Lich Bane instead of IBG because getting that prof every 2 seconds helps to delete an adc when you dive a teamfight. Sometimes AP is great if you know the situation calls for it. Doesn't mean I don't buy SS
archerno11 votesProblem with Singed support was that he wouldnt say anything in lobby, lock singed with Ghost and Smite and just run to enemy jungle. Riot told him he has to inform his team what he is doing.

item wont stop them from getting to their ap items ( hell it gives ap , gold income and wards) an they can still build AP and try to be a carry
hence why i cant stand AP MAGES "SUPPORTS"

Mig892 votesIt's not reportable for not buying SS but I main support and it absolutely drives me nuts to check the scorecard and see everyone else sitting on two wards while I have the botaide enemy jg lit up like a Christmas tree. People don't realize that the difference between always using the free trinket wards and not using them is like the difference between bronze and silver alone. That's like literally all it takes to climb out of bronze is to see an enemy coming in for a bank once or twice a game and preventing yourself from dying

You want to report someone, and get someone Punished (and potentially banned/suspended) because they didnt build What -You- wanted them to build. and this would just start a snowball effect of reports and bans.
I have lost count (as a support) how many times I have been threatened with a report for "not following the meta" Because I build what is needed to win, not What "everyone else builds" to fall in line with the current meta.
You are basically telling everyone that You want to be able to report someone (or you wouldnt have asked) for not building a sightstone. You are saying you want someone punished and reported for not building what YOU want them to build. As a support I am not afraid to say. YOU have a trinket, YOU drop a ward. If you want a sightstone that badly that you want to report someone over it.....YOU BUILD A SIGHTSTONE!

entega1 votesIt's not like I was having that much trouble with being caught but he was and we had vision on big objectives like dragons early. As a mid laner trying to ward dragon is hard when I need to stay protected from ganks ya know?
BigBellBrute1 votesNot punishable. By the way warding is everyone's job. Supports only get one red on the board at a time plus their warding item wards. That isn't enough to ward for the whole team. I always ward based on the objectives. Punching up a random pro game.
CLG's support placed 72 wards. But the rest of the team placed 107. So you see, it's not just the support's job to ward. It's everyone's.
entega1 votesI get that, I main support when I q with my adc friend. But when I play mid I try to ward and buy control wards when ever I can but having 10 wards (- lets say 5 or 6 for red and blue trinkets). You can't just use yellow warding trinket because they run out very fast (80 seconds right?) and they refresh after 120 or 160? This is a problem because wards are so important. I just feel it should be part of the support role instead of an option. Just how I feel, but I guess not many others do so that's fine and I'll deal with it.
