Differential treatment and punishments

I play this game duo with my husband, daily. And the community, as everyone knows, is horribly toxic. A troll recently banned my husband's pick on purpose, claiming to be stoned. It pissed him off, so he fed. That caused a 14 day ban. He gets back into the game, and gets a 25 game chat restriction for saying that our jungle was shit. Seriously? 25 games for saying the jungle was shit? He WAS shit. And every person in the game said so, including me. Yet my husband was the only one to be punished for talking about it.

Let's agree for the sake of argument that saying your jungle is shit is something that should be punished. Why is only one person punished? Is there a punishment for the troll that picked jungle and then spent the game moaning about how we forced him to play that champ because we had a horrible team comp? Did he get punished for spending the whole game with his negative attitude bitching about how much the rest of the team sucked? Did he get a 25 game chat restriction?

I play with people every single day that need to be punched in the mouth for the things that they say, and banned permanently for the things that they do to other people in the game. But somehow these assholes get by, and I get to play with them over and over and over again. Most of the time, when I say I'm going to report people for their behavior, they laugh at me. And they report ME for telling them that I'm going to report them. Having seen how my husband was punished for HIS transgressions, I'd like to know... are these punishments actually distributed fairly? And if you get punished for something and didn't actually do anything, who is going to help you? Doesn't look like anyone is actually paying attention to whether or not these punishments are just, reasonable, etc. I've got a lot of money in this game. There needs to be someone we can petition to if we get punished unreasonably, and the punishments need to actually be based on something more than the whim of whomever reads the chat log.

Your husband got punished based on his behavioral history, and not just from 1 game alone.

No one reads the chat log. Hasn't been anyone doing that since the Tribunal got removed 3-4 years ago. And I completely agree, people that ruin games with their behavior are punished FAR less severely than people who rage in chat. It's despicable. Riot has had 2-3 years to come up with systems to deal with toxic behavior, and all they can come up with is a system to detect key words in chat and ban accordingly. Pretty embarrassing if you ask me.

My advice: stop spending money on the game. No reason to spend money on the game until they can get their sh*t in order, which if history repeats itself, is never.

Usually it's not JUST "saying that our jungle was shit". To have an objective discussion on whether his punishment is just. Please post chat log(s).

And no, if 4 people say the exact phase "you are a shit jungler", each of them will be judged differently as far as punishment is concern because punishment is based on each person's historical toxic record.

That's where you go to dispute your punishment. I don't honestly know how punishments for toxic chat work following a suspension for feeding. What I do know is that insulting others shouldn't be a part of the game: it isn't providing anything helpful, and worsens the gaming experience of everyone involved.

If he somehow got a 25 game chat restriction after his 14 day ban, and 3 months hadn't passed, he should instead be really happy he isn't banned.

And no, repeated telling your jungler they are shit doesn't h3lp anyone.

Time to rethink playing with your husband if he's going to be toxic.

RIP the honor system.... right as I was starting to enjoy it. It gets ripped away because you cant give constructive criticism or joke around with a friend you premade.

Coming off of a ban, first off, places you into a sort of "Zero Tolerance" category. It's not surprising to see a follow up chat restriction on toxicity done after coming off of a ban.

You have to learn to not let these kinds of people get to you. That is the only way you will survive out there. /mute all is a great thing.

If you want to actually have a discussion about this case then post the unedited chat logs here in their entirety. That being said, yelling, raging and harassing other players is a sure-fire way to get a punishment, and the "they started it" excuse doesn't work here as you are responsible for your own behavior and no one elses.
