This has to be a mistake

I received a 14 day ban for this... i was having a bad game and the bot lane started harassing me, telling me i suck, and that im sh*t and telling the other team to report me.... the only thing I said all game is shown in the logs below.

Please tell me this ban can be overturned... the things that get said in league and this is a bannable offense???

I got it reversed! turns out I was flagged because I was just explaining the toxicity of 'kys' in a previous match.

Riot does what Riot needs to do. In your case, given your history, it was appropriate to remove the ban.

Just FYI - in the future - I suggest explaining it without repeating the actual behavior - or even not explaining it at all. If you feel compelled to explain it in a nice way, just say something such as "hey man, best change your club tag, things like that are not allowed" and not repeat what it actually is or say it multiple times.

Good thing we are banning people who are referencing tags, but not preventing the use of these tags to begin with. The system sucks, stop defending this piece of garbage.

Just use a similar context system to the current one being used to detect other forms of toxicity (determining whether or not "fuck" is being used in a toxic manner or not, for instance) instead of 0 tolerance

And yes, threats to person or property are illegal in the US. The first amendment doesnt cover all speech, courts have ruled on this consistently. Its called Assault.

Your definition of "the community agreeing with something" was based on them "reporting specifically for something"

Love how saying banned phrases is picked up by the bot, but not banned phrases that appear in people's names. Another prime example of how horrible this system is.

Have you had any previous chat restrictions prior to this?

There are two ways to get to 14 day bans, punishment tier progression (you've had chat restrictions but continue your behavior) or punishment escalation (like hyper toxic chat or zero tolerance policy words/phrases)

The original quote is still correct. You just don't understand it. He used a zero tolerance policy word, "kys" in trying to explain to someone that it is bannable. This was picked up by the IFS because the game was reported and so he got a false positive. This was also explained below.

That is incorrect. My first and only ban was a 14 days ban for feeding in a ranked game in which my premade-4 team trolled me and convinced the other team to report me as well. That is still my only ever ban to date, I have never had a chat ban either and was well over the average in honor at the time, but this was not even taken into consideration. This ban is the reason I haven't played ranked since and never will again.

EDIT: To clear things up I was not feeding, whenever teamfights would break out my team would back out and let me die every single time, leading me to have a spectacularly bad KD ratio.

Chat punishments are separate from game play punishments.

The OP is talking about chat related punishments and I am responding to his chat related inquiry and you are talking about game play related punishments.

You can also get 14 day bans from leave buster too, but that's not chat related, neither is intentional feeding, and neither game play nor leave buster issues were claimed in this thread.

It's good you got it appealed, but you did show a very poor behaviour in the one game you showed. Behaviour that has led to well deserved bans. I would suggest thinking before typing in future games.

Now it feels like you're just trying to be negative toward me for some reason. none of this matters anymore because my ban was lifted, and my honor in game was restored (I was disqualified at first for the mistake) I only posted here becuase i thought this is where I was suppose to do it, someone helped me with the correct lint and I have it sorted now

I usually do... thus the reason I was confused for the ban. As it turned out, this incident from last April wasnt even the reason I got the ban, but instead it was a automated system mistake, as I was trying to explain to another player post game that the use of a phrase he was using in his club name could get him banned.

I'm pretty sure Riot give the "fair warnings" around here. your condescending statements hold no weight with me. especially when you do not have all the information or know all the details. Your insight is as incorrect as it is useless.

No, I was given full honor last year. I'm very supportive in game, almost never swear, and often try to diffuse toxic players. I never had any warning, or chat restrictions... I was given this ban for the logs shown above, and their is nothing sportsmanlike about it.

I was getting verbally harassed and provoked by a silver V and Bronze I duo... once I op.gg them I just muted, and bid them 'gg' at match end and went to a new game

Just an FYI, rightfully issued punishments are never lifted or lessened. Also, the forums have 0 power to reverse punishments. Player behavior specialists are the only ones who can help you.

This might be a punishment escalation mix up. I know that on the asian servers, referring to someone's rank is the same thing as zero tolerance policy because the gaming culture insults in asian servers are different from the gaming culture insults on NA.

Open a support ticket and speak to a player behavior specialist. You might have gotten sent the wrong chat log or this might have been a false positive.

EDIT: Or if this is an edited chat log, again, we can't help you so editing to garner forum sympathy does you no good.

Which means it was not a rightfully issued punishment. Just because someone is toxic doesn't mean they hit the requirements and threshold of a permaban.... which is addressed specifically in the first sentence.

Something's fishy, I've never heard of the system pulling as far back as a month for a single game. I'd check with support through a ticket, see if you can get an explanation through there.

same thing happened to me once. explaining "kys" is banable and why I reported them. My acc got fixed though. It's not rare for this to happen. BUT that being said, I was also being slightly toxic back. So I got a chat ban and my honor level was sent to dishonorable. Luckily, you weren't being toxic and/or negative at all.
