More new player friendly?

I recently got my girlfriend into league and she was having so much fun playing bots together and looking at the champs at around level 10 I had her jump into a pvp blind match and play nami as is her favorite, she won and wanted to do more, shortly after she played a game as Ahri and got matched with a few smurfs, as expected they stomped her and I assume her team mates were also smurfs or at least a few from the lingo and toxicity they seemed to have for a low level match, obviously with the telling her she sucked and that they were going to report her she got super discouraged, what is one to do about this? She wants to play but with all the smurfs is she doomed to just play bots? I can't join a pvp match with her or she will still be against so many high levels. It's sad to see someone who liked it so much just get so sad and not want to play because they are bullied for being new

Was she queued with anyone else, or just with herself? When queued with players of higher skill it is much more likely to see smurfs and/or toxic players due simply to matchmaking and the fact that it matches players of similar skill together regardless of how "new" the account is. If not, it was likely a fluke - new players who are not skilled at the game tend to be matched with new players a majority of the time.
