RIOT BANNED MY ACCOUNT FOR NO REASON

This happened 2 years ago and I've been asking riot since. I went to Korea during winter break and when I came back my account was banned. Riot told me I used 3rd application while playing league. My account was already in Plat 1 and I was satisfied with it and it was end of season. So there was no reason for me to use 3rd application and I have never used any hack in any games and I don't even know how to install it.

I played since right after BETA and I used good money on this account. I asked Riot to check the location of user when my account was using 3rd party application because I think my account was hacked (If my account used 3rd party application).

I even told Riot I can prove you I was in Korea and I couldn't use my account and I'm willing to give personal information to them. This is really unfair banning system. Why do I need to get banned when I didn't even play the game?

I am being honest and trying to solve unfair judgement by Riot.. please if your not going to help me stop voting -1 to my thread. I have never got a single warning or any sort of ban from Riot for 6 years and then this happened. I'm pretty sure Riot can check this.

I've been trying to resolve this for 2 yrs now and if you read my thread and think I am being honest please give me a +1 vote. Thanks.

It's been 2 years? That's some persistence. As far as I know, riot doesn't overturn 3rd party software bans unless in error. If they can still do anything about this, hit up support. Chances are slim since it's been 2 years.

Yea I've been emailing with Riot for 2years now. How could I use 3rd party software when I was Korea and couldn't play NA leauge??

I would use their support site to submit a formal ticket. Thing is, the time frame is very long so there might not be anything they can do to help at this point. You're always welcome to try though.

I submitted 5 or more tickets now. And every time they refuse to check my account 1 more time. Every email is the same like auto reply. :/

While you might find this entertaining, mocking a player for their account being banned is neither constructive nor helpful.

This statement holds relevance regardless of whether they are guilty or innocent.

These sorts of bans happen in waves. So they keep track of all the players they have detected cheating over many months and then ban them all at once. This is to prevent those players from reverse engineering the detection system and figuring out ways around it.

You were likely caught using a 3rd party application at least several months before you went to Korea.

Not really an issue of the ban being applied for behavior that occurred (or didn't) during your trip, but more an issue of a ban that was applied after a significant time delay.

Did you ever share your account with another user? Because if you did then it is possible that they used 3rd party software while playing on your account.

I did just once so my best friend can try out Halloween skin but I changed my password right away. I know it's against Riot's rule so he played normal game. Since I trust my friend and he played normal game I asked Riot to check the location of the user. But Riot is refusing to do so.. again I've been asking Riot for 2yrs now. I wouldn't ask them for this long if I know I wasn't innocent. I'm not trying to be stubborn..

First off, Riot takes a very harsh stance on account sharing. They have in the past punished people simply for sharing their account. So it is possible that might be what happened. You are technically expected to take full responsibility for your account and never let another user onto it. This was part of the Terms of Use so they do technically have a right to ban the account on the grounds that you violated those terms.

But regardless of account sharing. Riot has no way of knowing if you are telling the truth about your 'friend.' They might be able to check the location of the user, but if they do and if they tell you what they found, then they will have given out information that could be used to figure out how they detect and punish players who misuse their game.

You could be 100% honest about it, but since they have no way to verify if you're being honest, they can't trust you with the information. They probably do have the location info for the other person, but depending on the form of that information it might be possible to identify the method used to find that information. Any response they give you could potentially provide information for someone seeking to find workarounds to the detection system. As such, they are forced to assume that you might be among the cheaters looking for a way around the system.

This is why we can't have nice things. People abuse the system, cheat, and impersonate innocent players. Then Riot is forced to look at everybody like a potential hacker and treat them as such with regards to not sharing information.

Honestly anybody who actually cheats or uses 3rd party programs in league deserves to have their computer dropped out a 2nd floor window. Fuck those people.

I don't know if you are or aren't guilty, but you're shit out of luck dude. Riot is confident that you broke the rules, whatever their detection methods are, they cannot tell you anything about it because that could be used to trick them in the future. There is a literal mountain of hackers and cheaters stacked against you in this situation. Riot can't risk giving you information since you could be one of them. And without that information you'll be hard pressed to prove that you weren't hacking.

I agree with you so I told Riot the fact of why people use 3rd party soft ware. They use it to go up in rank. But I was in Plat 1 for past 3 seasons and my friend played in normal game. So there wasn't any changes in my rank system. Also, my friend agreed to telling Riot about his location and personal information. That's why I've been asking Riot to check the location.

I can tell Riot where and why I played in these locations and all of them are either PC cafe, my house, friend's house and school. I'm sure Riot can check all of these place's IP number.

Me and my friend we are willing to provide Riot our driver license information to identify us and prove we are real friends with facebook. We've been best friend for 6 years now. We want to give Riot our IP number to check on us because we didn't use any 3rd party software. And if my account used in other locations then my account was hacked. I can prove them with our locations.

Is Riot really going to ban my account permanently just because my friend played normal game to try new skins?

That is some serious dedication. But like I said before, words are words. You could be 100% honest about this but Riot has no way to be sure you're not one of the scumbags who constantly seek ways to circumvent the system.

And if it has nothing to do with your friend playing on your account and they have other evidence that leads them to believe you used 3rd party programs then they aren't going to tell you because they would rather leave a potential hacker misinformed and confused than give them any scent that could lead them onto the right track.

I only asked about friend stuff because it's relevant due to the account sharing rules. There's still no way to know if that was the reason for the ban though. Don't get spun up over this, I only brought it up to get a better understanding of your situation. I didn't mean to suggest that it could have been the sole reason for the ban.

As is said in HalcyonDweller's replies, you shared your account willingly. The second you admitted to that, you became in violation of the Terms of Use for a different reason. At this point even if Riot were to determine you didn't use third party programs, I doubt they'd remove the ban as you admitted to sharing your account which is a big no-no.

Further, if your friend did use third party programs on their computer while you let them use your account, you assumed responsibility for that the second you allowed him access. You allowed your friend to use your account, something that should be pretty clearly against the rules. You now do not wish to have the consequences of your actions. I know it sucks to lose your account for something like that, but you violated the rules, and when you shared your account you became responsible for anything your friend did that violated the rules.

This is the same reason accounts that are banned for toxicity while they are being shared are not unbanned - when you share your account you are responsible for everything done on it.
