perma ban, can i get a perma mute instead?

Riot does not issue permanent chat bans (or long term, i.e. more than 25 games for that matter) either on request or as a punishment for a variety of reasons. First of all, they tried it before and it just resulted in more trolling, feeding, or afking - forms of toxicity that are both harder to detect and harder to punish. Secondly, they do not believe in you continuing to have a negative attitude - Riot's stance is that if you are negative/toxic you either need to improve your attitude and behavior, or you'll be kicked out of the game. Playing League is a privilege which Riot has decided not to afford to individuals who do not wish to reform and be non-toxic.

And if so why not? All my bans are related to specific words. so why not just mute me?

Just don't be a dick in chat or say anything at all. If you lose it and you want to punch a hole in your monitor, I suggest you afk and lie in bed (unless it's ranked.) I have been playing on my main for a couple of months now and I have never gotten a chat restriction or any penalty. Eventually after a few bans you will start to mature and not type any stupid shit in chat. Hope this helps.
