Difference between permanent suspension and permanent ban?

Ok...so whats the difference between a permanent ban and a permanent suspension? Reason im asking is cause I just had my first game of the day, got flamed and trolled by a team mate, as well as some of my team mates accusing me of trolling just cause I was playing AP Shaco. I got to play one game, then my account was permanetely suspended. I'v only had chat restriction once, and one 14 day suspension is the best due to my behaviour on a bad day. So how have I got a perma suspension already?

Just for reference, here's the chat log that riot sends me when I try to log in. Yes I know it may come across as a bit of attitude, but the situation was this: I was playing AP Shaco mid, and our jungler Warwick was starting the other side of our red jungle. So I did the chicken/raptor camp quickly to get a level advantage over my opponent. And because I did, Warwick immediately started flaming me for it, and quite openly said he would not gank mid at all, and then kept calling me a troll for playing Shaco, which our top lane Heimer started to call me as well just cause I roamed from mid to top to gank the enemy top laner and got the kill. And to top it off, Warwick then purposely left the game cause the rest of us wouldn't surrender.

Again, I know my choice of words below aren't the most positive they could be, but as you can see in it, I didn't give any verbal abuse like swearing, toxic name calling, etc..

So again, whats the difference between a permanent suspension and a ban? As I haven't gotten a email from riot yet with details about it. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and please don't post any nasty or snarky comments about "ignoring people" or something. All I want is a proper discussion about suspensions

No difference. Suspension is technical term, ban is casual term.

Oh...well that sucks...still don't understand why iv been banned so quickly when iv only had one chat restriction, and one 14 day suspension... Oh well, no use crying over spilled milk. Thanks anyway

That would be funny if it was true. But I know people who have lots of restrictions and suspensions, and their not banned

Must be older punishments then.

Currently, you have four tiers of punishment:

  • 15 game chat restriction
  • 25 game chat restriction
  • 14 day ban
  • permanent ban

Waiting 3 months will make you drop one tier, extreme cases and/or punishments in rapid succession can lead to you skipping a tier.

iv only had one case of chat restriction which was 15, and a 14 day ban. That's all iv had before today, then all of a sudden, boom, Banned

As said, extreme cases and/or punishments in rapid succession can lead to you skipping a tier. So you'd for example skip the 25 game chat restriction and get a 14-day ban. The next step from 14-day ban (unless you go unpunished for 3 months) is always a permanent ban.

To elaborate a bit more:

Extreme cases would be stuff like death threats, death wishes (á la "I hope you get cancer irl!"), homophobic/racial slurs and other things I can't think of right now.,, you probably get the idea though.

The other case where you can skip punishments is when Riot doesn't have the feeling that the previous punishments showed any result. This usually happens when people are behaving just as negatively while they are still on their chat restriction or very shortly after any received punishment.

Thats strange then cause I don't do extreme stuff like that, and the gap between my chat restriction and 14 day suspension was pretty long. But like I said, no use crying over spilled milk. My accounts banned and I know riot wont unban it, so no use complaining. Prob just quit league and go play HotS or Dota

Just to point out: Refusing to gank is not trolling. Especially warwick, he cant gank prior to 6 and after 6 once every couple minutes,.

I know warwick cant really gank pre 6, but its more of the fact he declared to the enemy he wasn't going to gank, and he didn't gank any lanes all game, and even came to lanes just to take farm, then walk back out.

No need to be sad about it. I got an Instant perma Suspension and i didnt even do anything. ( No warnings, No 14 days just Instant and i dont even know why)
