"You had to Xv1 me, you must really suck!" Stop Shaming people for Teamwork

PapercutOmen·9/18/2017, 10:03:35 PM·23 votes·1,468 views

this...Just fucking STOP IT. its part of the reason this game is going downhill. If the team works together, they are shamed "oh you are bad, you had to 2/3/4/5v1 me"

You come onto a game that REQUIRES teamwork, Then turn around and shame people for working together. Just got out of a game where had a VERY tanky Sion. Team works together to take him out, and he comes back with "You had to 5v1 me, you all must suck". This is part of the reason for the "solo carry" attitude, is this idea that WORKING WITH YOUR TEAM IS A BAD THING and should be shunned. So stop this fking attitude of shaming players for actually USING teamwork. Yeah the community is shit, but when they do work together and begin thinking maybe teamwork isnt so bad, You come along and act like they should be ashamed of themselves for not going with your "1v1 me bruh" attitude.

I understand when people complain about allies being idiots, but enemies?

This both tells you that you tilted your opponent, and shows that they're frustrated with their team for not playing well together. What's your complaint?

Just say "You still died lol" and remember to focus on killing them a bunch to tilt them harder.

They aren't shaming you for playing well, they're making excuses/blaming their team for getting beaten. That's...not something you need to call out on the boards.

Don't try to change this people's mentality. Just laugh at them.

Jeddy0179/19/2017, 12:34:43 PM1 votes

Usually I just say, "This isn't Street Fighter, bro" , mute them & go on about my day.

Tranced9/19/2017, 12:52:57 PM1 votes

But then how am I supposed to make myself not look like garbage after dieing to a gank :(

OP Garen Support9/19/2017, 1:38:06 PM1 votes

People only say that when they are tilted and jealous of your team. I'm pretty salty myself if I constantly have to play 1 vs 2 or 1 vs 3 meanwhile my team is doing nothing useful.

There are things in this game that tilts the player or makes them salty.

Example what pisses me off the most: -minion block -totally random turret aggro meaning if you get dived by the enemy the turret wont shoot them -totally random turret aggro#2 you look at the enemy funny and it start shooting you instead of the minion wave that is front of you -luck (remember running away with 10 HP every damn time is not skill) -team blaming you for them being idiots -no sightstone support -Draven Camille Fizz Fiora Irelia Shaco Yasuo LeeSin --constant camping(babysit)

The biggest tilting for me is the constant camping(babysit). My biggest strength in LOL was the ability to win 1 vs 1 fights. With the change in the meta where the skill to 1 vs 1 was removed and toxic playstayle was introduced by introducing jungle catchup exp, removal of wards, overbuffing ADC's, damage meta. Enemy having a better jungle results in you loosing lane even if you are higher skill leveled makes the game way more frustrating then they were before.

If I get camped for 10 minutes straight at least 6-7 ganks even if only half the time it is successful, it makes you loose lane and tilts you. You cant carry your team if you are behind meanwhile they feed 4 vs 3 anyway.

It really pisses me off when people cant play without having his buttbody wipe his ass every 2 minutes. You say its team game. You are right but where is my team when I keep getting destroyed with no way to get back in the game? Oh right they loose 4 vs 3 and we end up loosing the game.

I dont like to flame and I'm very much not proud of it, but yes I will flame anyone for needing a constant babysit. They prove that they dont deserve to play against you and they are being boosted by the camper. (next time when the boosted is alone will end up feeding and ruining more games)

The real reason the game is toxic is that the games are not balanced. The team who gets more boosted noobs looses by getting stomped.

PePsiLemoNN9/19/2017, 1:56:33 PM1 votes

I only see people do that sometimes when I play normals/flex lol

draecina9/19/2017, 2:12:58 PM1 votes

They aren't shaming you, they're just mad that they got ganked. They will 2v1 you any time given the opportunity. They just want to make you feel as bad as they do for dying (and probably not warding). Just ignore it and take it as a sign that they're tilted and you can win lane.

LXII9/19/2017, 2:37:33 PM1 votes

It's a viable tactic. You just took down an enemy, probably feeling good about it, then wait.. what's that? "Haha noobs, took all 5 of you to take me down!" Then it hits you. It DID take 5 people focus firing that one dude to get a single kill. What are you gonna do when 4 others are in the fight?! Now he's in your head, you roll up to the next fight rattled, get bopped, lose.

Real talk though, trash talk is a part of all online games. Whether it's for the psychological effect or just for that person to try to justify their misplay it's gonna happen. Best thing to do is shrug it off, not let it bother you so much you feel the need to post about it.

It's also worth noting that nobody actually thinks working with their team is bad. People just don't like being ganked, they don't want you working with your team. They'll team up on you every day of the week though.

SanKakU9/19/2017, 3:15:10 PM1 votes

He's playing a tank? Cut him some slack. Even I like to all chat 'teamwork is cheat Kappa' when my team leaves me out to dry because they just want to KS or whatever their problem is.

Maybe salty tank players are a problem, but even if they are, let's keep some perspective on why they might be a problem. I'm pretty sure they aren't the source of toxicity on their team in at least half their matches.

YerroFever9/19/2017, 3:20:20 PM1 votes

This isn't really shaming. It's them trying to feel better about getting caught out alone.

I Main Swain9/19/2017, 3:20:38 PM1 votes

i always thought it was hilarious facing those players who literally any time they die or anything they HAVE to go into all chat and trash talk you. like i genuinely enjoy when i get 6 successful ganks from my jungler and the now 0 6 enemy Fizz is like "lol you cant do anything by yourself youre so bad git gud" im like yeah ok bud, lemme just spam dance on your corpse real quick to show you exactly how much i care

Some Noob Dude9/19/2017, 3:25:43 PM1 votes

If I say this, it's because I want you to bring more people so my team can put more pressure on the map, it's a bait.

GelsominoKiller9/19/2017, 4:07:27 PM1 votes

To be honest I only see this behavior in low elo games AND yasuo mains.

It is actually quite retarded to bitch about that, and nobody takes those persons seriously.

I mean, what's even the point of a master yi saying: "OMG you can't 1v1 me NOOB". In this game different champions do different things, and some champions are designed to be flat out better in a duel. I will acknowledge this, and I won't commit to a duel I can win. That's how you play this game.

Ariel the Cruel9/19/2017, 4:20:08 PM1 votes

I have 2 objectives when I do this:

  1. Waste time. I'm dead. Nothing better to do.
  2. Distract you. If you're typing a response, you're not inputting character commands. Even better if reading my BS distracts you from looking at the [mini-]map.
IPERFECTO9/19/2017, 5:37:53 PM1 votes

The thing that tilts me usually isn't that i'm being camped, enemy just doing his work, but that my ally usually do nothing about that(at all, not even bothering it) :\

Lauchmelder9/19/2017, 5:40:45 PM1 votes

Nah man, screw that. If they use 3-4 people to to get me (and just barely manage to kill me while I nearly get a quadrakill) they deserve the shame.

Liveey9/19/2017, 6:31:04 PM1 votes

I only get upset when the whole team comes to kill me but I can easily be 1v1'ed by anyone on the enemy team.

Talk about overkill ;w; rip grey screen simulator I am already behind </3 pls mercy

Drugoth9/19/2017, 10:49:40 PM1 votes

I mean, it's sheer strategy, assists are very healthy for your team as a whole in terms of a gold lead.

Blue Mystified9/19/2017, 11:53:24 PM1 votes

i mean, i'd rather consistently win (many times) more than the guy who's raging that teamwork is bad. IDc if he's even remotely right: I win more than you, why should i feel bad? Just use that mindset. (Not that they're even remotely right to begin with)

JetBlackHero9/20/2017, 1:00:56 AM1 votes

Its so funny when people complain about this in all chat. "haha you guys are so bad it took 3 of you to kill me" Yes, and now we got gold, we can push you're lane, and you're dead. Do you still feel like you're winning?

CelloMarl9/20/2017, 2:58:08 AM1 votes

When I get ganked in top lane, I think of those words of wisdom by Ron White: "I don't know how many it would have taken to whip my ass, but I knew how many they were gonna use."

LoLTrashPleb9/20/2017, 6:30:46 AM1 votes

if you cant beat someone 1v1 then you're worse than them tbh. unless your teammates fed them, which tends to happen a lot. the whole reason ppl say that is because if it takes 5 people just to kill you, then it just shows that you're that much more ahead of the other team and you're fed af. helps if you get a kill in that 5v1

jadelink9/21/2017, 9:00:25 AM1 votes

Saying 'I have bronze level map awareness and didnt notice 4 people missing' or 'I am too greedy and stupid a split pusher to buy a pink ward' just doesn't have the same flair.

It's the nature of good duelists to get played by immature brats, with very low capacity for teamwork and big picture strategy compared to others at their ELO. Riven mains think it's a fighting game and they're playing the new Final Fantasy rival, that's why they have this reputation.

Very occasionally, it's actually an attempt to actually cause a rift in the teamwork of the opponents. I suggest muting the enemy team by default if having them say this is in any way annoying to you.

TTGOz9/21/2017, 4:39:10 PM1 votes

I think this is less about shaming the other team, but more like "look at me! this is how big my dick is! You guys couldn't handle it so you had to orgy it up!"

yesnobanana9/22/2017, 9:09:38 AM1 votes

"Say that to the defeat screen" always makes them shut up.

TwinkiePro9/22/2017, 9:50:41 AM1 votes

Well, I usually say it like this: "Oh, two of you for me?" "okay"

now, before I get mass bombed, Let me explain the reasoning and compare it to the above.

Players like who op speaks of do more than mock their opponents but also tell they they are terrible players. My statement on the other hand, while still tilting the enemy, does directly convey negative meaning towards the opponent. It can also be conveyed as me saying "damn i must be good then ;)" There's merit in taunting your enemies and getting into their heads, it's another to outright call the names or down right mock them.

Mαgie3/5/2018, 9:38:51 PM1 votes

I agree, that attitude is just showing how childish people can really be. It's a team game, what the hell were you thinking it's going to happen? Some people also value assists, and if you're positioned badly and in a perfect spot to kill, why not?

Same goes for people who shout "I'm actually better, 1v1 me". That's just stupid and it shows how insecure they are about their gameplay and are trying to prove to themselves they are actually good. Which in most times, they're not.

But at the end of the day, it's just talk and no action.

Oleandervine3/5/2018, 9:45:20 PM1 votes

You don't shame the pack of wolves for chasing you down, routing you, and then tearing you to pieces, you simply die quietly. League should operate the same way.

woodvsmurph3/5/2018, 11:46:31 PM1 votes

Some thoughts to consider in regards to your match:

You don't know what his match history is like. Maybe he's had nothing but trolls and intentional feeders on his team all week and hasn't won a game in ages. How pissed would you be at yet another match of being 2v1'd for 15 min straight to start the game or 5v1'd while your teammates did NOTHING?

How mad would you be if you got harassed by your teammates all game for dying to a 3v1 gank one time even though you win lane despite being 1v2 the entire time and in a matchup you have no business going even in - much less winning. Now add in mastery flares or emotes taunting you by the enemy team. Are you still being as nice in your response to them as the sion is? If you are honest, I bet you aren't that nice.

The worst feeling in league? Winning in a shitty matchup despite being camped by the enemy team, being all set where you KNOW you can carry, only to: have your teammates all feed get flamed by them for "doing nothing" be ignored when you make the simplest requests of them (farm by tower, group, ward please, etc.) get reported by your whole team when you are literally the only reason your team didn't lose 20 min earlier get reported by enemy team member(s) who take the side of your teammate(s) because they told them gg or promised to report a member of their team too get camped by so many people that you basically don't get to play league the entire game... waste of 30+ minutes

Yeah, I've been in scenarios like that way too often. And my response would be much like sion's. It's not a dis at you or your team per-say. It's more like saying, I wish MY TEAM were useful in any way shape or form so I could have a fair chance at my skill having an impact on the outcome of this game... instead of losing even though I'm possibly better than anyone else in this match on an individual basis and COULD shotcall my team to victory if they would WORK WITH ME or had any skill. So, it's very possible that the sion means do real disrespect to you so much as he could very well be expressing frustration at having useless teammate(s).

The "1v1 me" people usually play duelists or just those champs who are built to excel in 1v1. I've seen enough of them yelling that cheap line while playing Vayne, Darius, Fiora etc champ to make this claim.

In short, they jump out trying to be all honourable and manly and shit without realising how ironically big of a coward they actually and really are.
