first time ban got a 14 day ban, now what?

Last night I was playing against a guy that kept saying he was a Muslim and talked about have intercourse with children. It was late and I was tired and not thinking so I said some bad things. People who talk about having sex with kids pisses me off. I got a 14 day ban. My question is if I behave after this, after a while will I have a "clean slate". I see people say they are reporting someone for stupid reasons all the time and I don't want to lose my account. Like if I have to afk for whatever reason, say there was an emergency, and someone reports me, will I be permabanned after a long time of good behavior? This was my first ever ban or warning so I am confused to why it is a 14 day ban and not a communication ban. I really don't think what I said was deserving of it, especially considering it is my first time in trouble.
