So Because I'm not used to locking in during new champ select - I get a 30 minute ban?

So you guys implement a new champ select system which is great and all, whatever. I'm not here to cry about the pros/cons of it. But during this implementation, you put in place a system where you HAVE to lock in your champ or you dodge. Which is something I'm not used to, because I usually use the time limit on my pick to coordinate with my team about who I should play. Am I the only person here who thinks this is horse-shit? Why was there no grace period given before implementing this new "punishment" (and I use that term lightly, as most of the time it's punishing players who haven't actually done any intentional dodging)? I have no history of bad behavior, afks, toxic play, NOTHING. So I'm a little pissed off right now about the way this was put into place.

I mean the game warns you, gives you a solid 40ish seconds, and even added a whole Phase for Teambuilding and deciding what to pick (Pick Intent). You'll get used to it by day 3 max. Your brain is now super paranoid of not locking in, so you'll lock in. Easy mental manipulation on Riot's part.
