What should I do if I think someone tried to hack my account?

I randomly received an email today from Riot Support saying that I requested a password change. I did no such thing, but followed the link and changed my password to something different. Did someone try and hack my account, and if so, what should I do?

First question, did you verify it was an actual Riot email?

Second question, did you double check that you were on the real LoL site to change your password?

Verify it's actually Riot, then go to change your password from the actual Riot site, not from any link in the email.

First things first, change your password immediately, from within the Riot websites, as mentioned before.

Secondly, I recommend also changing the e-mail address on your account, if you can, just in case there's compromise there as well.

Two-Factor Authentication is also a wonderful option, just because it's that much harder to request a password change or even log in with a stolen password.

I also recommend poking Player Support, just in case there's anything they can see/do with the information gleaned from an attempted login. (This is entirely optional, and best done if multiple attempts happen.)
