These are just 2 examples from the after game chat of this person being incredibly racist to me. I dealt with it for a good 10 mins before i finally muted. I filed a report, but i really want to make sure something happens. It's a real shame where this country is at, over 150 years since slavery was abolished.

You can talk about things associated with race, but race itself is a physical characteristic... and hence talking about race or being offended by something with regards to race when no one can see you, would in fact mean that you are identifying certain traits with a specific race as well.
This in itself is called stereotyping, which is generally the issue that is at the heart of all race/ethnic issues... associating all of a group of people based on the actions of few.

I said "ily fam <3" in one of my messages to the Zac, because he kept on complimenting me when I'd flay every one of his engages and set up good counter engages. Then, the Viktor who was very upset with the game and was shit-talking our kayle, says that "only a N-word would say that" and kept on calling me this word all game (I'm censoring this because i got a comment removed earlier when it showed the word, I don't want to disrespect Riot and put it here again.) He kept saying this over and over again to me, and told me such things as being put in shackles because Trump is president now, saying I can have no life, saying that he's going to kill me himself if Trump doesn't. Do his comments not specify a certain race? I'm pretty sure it does, and it just so happened to be mine. I understand trying to see the other side of arguments, that's monumental to making good decisions and good arguments, but some arguments like this one just have no solid basis for another side to be made.

He literally was just a racist who needed to say something to make himself feel better after being beaten in a game by an 8/3/10 Thresh.

In the case of the racism we're talking about, even if you're white, and someone calls you the N word, they're implying
Black people are stupid / inferior / savage, etc., and
No matter what you are, you share all of those negative traits that the word entails.
They aren't literally saying, "You are a person of African heritage with dark skin". They are saying black people have negative qualities, and your qualities are so bad that you are now an honorary member of said group.

I know asking someone on a gaming board to read a heavy book like this is unlikely to have an effect. But if you'd like to understand racism in America, this is one really important piece of the puzzle.
