Toxic

Dear Riot, (this is going to be really fucking cheesy...) Take videogamedunkey as an example. Why do you think he quit League? Because the community sucks. I am quitting League as well. And I just hit level 30, where sh*t gets REALLY serious. I'm not scared to admit that I have CRIED (I sound like a pussy but the things they say are really harsh to hear, especially when it's not your fault for the most part) because of toxic players. The last game I played, my own friend stole the majority of my kills (I have asshole friends but at least they're not as toxic as some of the assholes that are part of the League community) and our Ahri wouldn't stop cussing me out because I "purposely" went AFK. My client froze. I tried explaining it to her but she saw absolutely no reason to stop. I reported her and blocked her but doing those things don't help. Words hurt more than anything because the "scars" left aren't going to heal. You banned dunkey because he was being toxic but he's done so much for you guys. UberDanger is equally as toxic. Both of these people are the reason why I started playing league. But even at the start it was really bad. I can take criticism when I see it coming. And I mean when I know I'm doing bad and no one on the team is doing anything to prevent my progress. I try. I know feeders are annoying but cussing out them teammates doesn't help. Put yourself in their position and think before you act. It sounds cheesy but it's true. And riot, if you want your game to expand try ACTUALLY doing something about toxic players. They aren't scared of getting reported because they know it takes a while for you guys to do ANYTHING to their accounts. I'm not telling you how to make a video game. I'm telling you, as a player, how to make an enjoyable one. If you honestly want to keep players, ban accounts that NEED to be banned. But banning those who try hard to make your game look enjoyable is just really screwed up. There is so much more to add on to this but I'm getting a little lazy. Oh yeah and this?

"This board is all about fostering a healthy community in which discussions can revolve around player behavior systems, in-game suspensions, or boards moderation. This includes topics on how the systems work, insight into why players were punished, and advice to help players improve moving forward."

Make this happen.

Yea, they just upgraded feeder detection to start handing out instant bans to feeders. All Mobas get this way, unfortunately, but league, at least, is doing something about it. Give it time, report. The fat gets trimmed with every passing month.

Dunkey rejoined. But yeah... he had a point, community sucks.

However I'd say words hurting is an opinion. Sticks and stones is my motto and I don't give a shit about you or your petty words.

What do you think about vgdunkey's ban?

It's really unfortunate. Many Rioters love Dunkey's content, and I've unloaded my share of "Not even close babyyyyy" jokes around the office; however, we really can't show favoritism to someone just because they are a pro or a known content creator. This isn't really a debate about whether trashtalking is OK or not OK in games; we've talked a lot in the past about how we're OK with players bantering with their friends but you should be careful when interacting with strangers who may not understand your intentions--especially if you're using hate speech or slurs. We have a zero tolerance policy against hate speech, racism, homophobia, and sexism and that policy stands whether you're a random player, a pro player, or a Youtube celebrity. This also really wasn't a case about intentional feeders and whether it's OK to be toxic towards other toxic players--there wasn't even a Malphite in the game that got him banned and either way, retaliation just isn't OK because it makes the experience worse for everyone else in the game. We know that players have been asking us to be more aggressive against intentional feeders for awhile, and it has taken us a bit longer than we'd like. We do consider gameplay toxicity just as serious as verbal toxicity, and are launching a new Intentional Feeder Detection system in 5.18 that can ban feeders within 15 minutes of matches. We're starting with conservative settings to make sure the system would not ban players for having the rare bad game, even if it was a 0-10 type of bad game but this is a great first step to aggressively tackling intentional feeders. At the end of the day, this incident sucks for everyone. We respect that Dunkey hasn't posted his Reform Card, and I'm not going to post it either. Best wishes to him in the future.
