Disallowing "NEVER PLAYED" Champions into RANKED.

I've been part of the LOL community for over 5 years, I've had long breaks and short breaks alike. I consider myself QUITE they competent player with the basics such as warding and calling mias.

Not soo surprisingly, yet ironically... there are way too many players in this community that have might have played LOL for quite an extensive period of time and YET, they fail to deploy the basic steps in this game, particularly Warding.

When I play a series of games, where you can clearly see 2 wards unused by team members, and shortly after your entire team gets wiped out in your OWN jungle, it becomes practically tedious and vexatious.

I'm classed toxic because I have the guts to tell someone to play "smarter" by placing wards and perhaps not get killed for the "4th time in a row" by the same methods of the jungler. However, I get a nice brief middle finger response for having the nerve to criticize and provide somewhat constructive criticism, which is practically nonsensical anyways, in a fast paced gamed. You either get with it, or be an ignorant fool and repeat your actions over and over, when a simple ward can prepare you for a counter attack.

Anyways, I digress. The biggest and most loathsome situation I hate finding myself in is people that say " FIRST TIME champion, I literally swoon with rage!! Ofcourse as predicted, 90% of all my cases where I've been paired with an idiot that decided to play a completely NEVER played champ into RANKED, they feed mercilessly; when addressed or cautioned, you're being accused of being toxic! Because yes! OFCOURSE, I'm expected to keep a straight face and not comment on people's absurd gameplay or rather antics!

Don't call this a team game when 50% of my match ups are full of players that create a lopsided experience. No matter how good 2-3 players might be, ONE person can kiss your hopes of a potential victory GOODBYE. It's selfish and completely unfair to many of us players out there that could more likely do better if not for selfish bunch!

I digress again, I want to propose that RIOT creates some kind of filter or counter on any champion we play. Allow players to enter certain champions in, only if they've had atleast 15 games or so with it. ONLY reserved to ranked. They wanna play a completely NEVER PLAYED champion, then they need to unlock it using RIOT POINTS for the first time, or the alternative would be to practice in custom game or NON-RANKED games.

My suggestion is simple! We shouldn't have to suffer because some selfish nutjob most likely saw a Good ZOE player in a previous game and thought, "HEY I CAN DO THAT , I'll try ZOE in next game too", and instead get the floor wiped with the face. Many players in this community lay toomuch of an emphasis on champion ability rather than "skill/ self ability", even though I truly believe some champions have too much of an advantage , such as Yas, Garen, Jax and etc. I still believe that as long as people have those misconceptions, there will still be alot of selfish players that decide to enlist a particular champ, (whether played or NEVER played), this should not be allowed. In my case, I had a player that gleefully announced he was playing ZOE for first time... against an easy to play "AKALI". Go figure!

I hope this suggestion can be considered in future.

I will point out that the two failures you see in your teammates - lack of vision/map awareness and not understanding how matchups work in champion selection - are not related to experience with specific champions.

It's a fine idea in theory, but there are tons of holes to be poked into it. Off the top of my head:

-I'm given an off-role and only have 1-3 champs available for that role. My preferred pick is banned or picked, leaving with without many options. -I played the champ 2-3 times in norms and feel confident in him already. -I own champs that I don't play and intend to trade. -I have access to a hard-counter in lane and don't want to pass it up, even though I'm not extremely experienced in that champ. -I'm on an alt account.

You could probably have done without the first four paragraphs and easily made your post more clear and readable.

And, disregarding the fifth and sixth paragraphs of melodramatic fluff, let's just get to the meat:

I want to propose that RIOT creates some kind of filter or counter on any champion we play. Allow players to enter certain champions in, only if they've had atleast 15 games or so with it.

Hypothetically good, but, bad for a number of reasons. JoOo has a good number of reasons, but I can think of another. What if, on my account, I own nearly all the Champions in the game, and have had at least fifteen matches on them in the past, but have not played some of them in quite some time? Like, months to years? Does the system disregard that rust just because I've met the criteria of having played fifteen games ever as these Champions?

They wanna play a completely NEVER PLAYED champion, then they need to unlock it using RIOT POINTS for the first time,

Come on, this is just plain dumb. I'm sorry, but nobody should have to pay real goddamn money to play part of a free game with a specific Champion. If the options are "Pay real money or play fifteen games", then what is even the point of the fucking paywall when you could easily circumvent it by playing - as you even said - Custom games.

Custom games which, in the strictest sense, only give you experience with a Champions mechanics. Not how those mechanics can be translated into play, mind, but just the mechanics. Saying that you can play Custom games to count towards the 15 match prerequisite does not in any way help prevent players from taking Champions they don't perform well with into Ranked, because if they haven't played any one of those fifteen matches against a human player, they don't truly know the Champion.

And everything past that was more fluff.

Look, I get that getting first timers in Ranked sucks. I dunno why the hell people do it, but they do it. But barring people from playing the game with an arbitrary paywall or playtime prerequisite is a bit absurd, especially since there's - what - one-hundred and thirty-some Champions? Nearing a-hundred forty? That's a lot of fuckin' champs to have to play 15 games of for no good reason, and even still, you're not taking into account that some Champions have difficulty curves that may breach 15 games.

Champions like Riven, Zed, Talon, Ekko, Kayn, Evelynn, and so on. If you truly wanted to prevent players from screwing up Ranked because they're relatively new to a Champion, you'd kinda have to take their difficulty curves into account, too.

At which point, you might start seeing a lump-some of easy Champions who still get stomped.

NO. Ranked is just another game mode like others.

-> Complains about people trying out champions in ranked -> Picks ghost over flash in every single game on every single champion

I don't think it's fair that you complain about people not knowing champions when you don't know the game itself.

Heroes of the Storm requires Level 5 (about 10 games) with a champ before you can play them in ranked. I like it, and I think LoL would benefit from such a feature. Requirement should be fairly low, though.
