Next Level Flaming Issues

Ok, so 1st off im not the best player by any means. Was in Gold III, 50% win rate, basically only jungle and occasionally supported for a platinum adc who taught me how to play the game a few years ago. The psychos every game just ruined the fun for me. So I decided to make a new account to do what he did for me and just offer tips to new player to help them get started and give them sites that they could look to for guidance learning new champs.

BIG MISTAKE...

I have never seen anything like this before. The community has always been harsh, but it is worse than ever right now. I am level 16 now and I have played just 4 games where someone didn't lose it on someone else mid game. The common denominator, every single person flaming is a smurf who already had an account banned, or most likely got stuck in bronze. And, they scream all game at new players not doing well, but refuse to offer them help. When i offer them help, the guy starts flaming me for offering a new player help. And, it's so bad that these new players are in love with you for offering the slightest advice because they love the game, but are sooooo miserable playing because of the community.

It's time Riot steps up and does the right thing. There needs to be people looking into these reports and if someone goes off the rails, ban them and their IP Address(if thats possible) for a massive period of time. Over the top, ridiculously harsh penalties for flaming people. And if you use racial or gay slurs, instant life time ban.

It's time they rid the community of the trash. And if you're one of these people, it's time to grow up. You had no idea what you were doing when you 1st started playing either. No need to ruin the game for new players too. You'll find out they listen pretty well and arent too bad when they have some direction.

Obviously any comments below I fully expect to prove my point, but it needs to be said.

GROW UP! IT'S A VIDEO GAME!

Banning their ip wouldn't help because of college and university players.

The low level experience in LoL is an unremitting nightmare. It's either an endless slog of bots, and then there are bots on YOUR team, or an endless slog of new players vs. 5 man premade smurf shitlords. Yeah, my low level account is essentially a smurf, I'm not a level 13, but I'm also not some hotshit badass, I haven't even left bronze, ever. Either way it just isn't fun.

Its hilarious. Maybe there wouldn't be so many low level smurfs if their mains weren't getting banned for triggering the bullshit autoban system. But Riot would rather them spend the money on a new account and RP and stuff so they get to make more money. If the old tribunal system were still in place, people wouldn't be getting needlessly banned left and right. I really don't understand why they ever took it away. It was the most fair thing in the world. Players get to decide their peers punishments, if they even deserved any. unlike this whoreshit new autoban system that works on triggering key words.

This is a little bit of a circle jerk. At a certain point, we have to learn to govern ourselves and the behaviour of ourselves and those directly around us. We don't need big daddy Riot to help us when they've already given us the tools to help ourselves.

Leveling from 1-30 on this smurf acct, I was doing for fun and not from a ban. My main is also g3, around 65% wr. I never flamed anybody ( because honestly whats the point? They're either new, or come pre-tilted from a ban, or aren't a problem.) , and when I saw others flaming or being flamed, my instructions were for the players surrounding me to mute that person. And then I would mute that person. We're taking the bait all too often and then feel bad about an experience that we let happen to ourselves.

I encourage you to continue to be helpful to those around you who ask for help. Never lose that spark. Know that there's good people out there who are just like you. But know that you're an adult or at least a reasonable person, responsible for your own enjoyment of this medium. Use /mute.

Oh god, I was with you up until around the end. People need to learn that they can and should mute, when getting flamed.

What I mean is, I think Riot is harsh enough on toxic offenders. I agree new players have it super rough. But I went through it, and I didn't cry, I didn't rage, I accepted my newness, went into the game fully expecting flame (because I know I'm gonna be playing with kids), and came out the other end just fine. Same ol piece a shit I always was.

Now, I know "not everyone is like you" blah blah. That's why Riot gave you a mute button. If the harsh reality of your skills is being thrown in your face constantly, and you just can't stand it, hit that mute button! Bam. All flame instantly disappears with nothing but a lingering memory of what was said before you muted, left behind. Sure, this memory stings, but hey, that's life. You were insulted in real life too before, I'm sure. God didn't give you a mute button, but Rito did. All hail riot. (Fuck you riot)
